Highlights for my mind:
* Seeing Daniel Kitson absolutely blow my mind for the second year running. I said it after last year's festival, but he truly is the best stand up comedian I have ever seen.
* GUD's 'Moira' and 'Fuck the Poor' songs.
* Ross Noble singing Ms Dynamite and me consequently impersonating Ross Noble impersonating Ms Dynamite for three and a half weeks, much to the disgust of my friends.
* Getting to meet Neil Innes and getting Monty Python stuff signed.
* Seeing just how much Daniel Kitson does not appear to like fame!
* Lee Mack; he is brilliant. He's like Shaun Micallef meets Ross Noble, which is a very very good thing. His talents are wasted on The Sketch Show.
* Tom Gleeson. One of the best stand ups around, and a shame that on the Thursday night I went, the venue was only about 1/5 full. He deserves much, much better.
Lowlights:
* Missing both Tripod and Noel Fielding - two shows I was desperate to see - because of poverty.
* Half-Tix not having any decent cheap tickets apart from GUD and T. Gleeson!
* Lee Mack not winning the Barry (not to take anything away from Mike Wilmot...)
* Daniel Kitson not winning a single award. Oh, apart from the Perrier :P
* The crowds didn't seem to pick up until week 3 of the Festival, and I'm interested to see if overall crowds this year were down on previous years.
That's it.
International wishlist for next year - Daniel Kitson, Ricky Gervais, Ross Noble, Lee Mack, Dylan Moran, Greg Proops, Dan Antopolski, The Boosh, Danny Bhoy.
