that's the best i've seen tripod in years!!! back to the good old open slather days, none of the shit that was tripod are tripod last year. overall i was quite bored with the show, have to watch it a couple of more times to make an informed decision. though i found the opening quite cringeworthy.
wil: heard most of the material before, wasn't funny the 2nd time round. man needs to learn not to shout everything he says. that's why microphones were invented.
adam hills: cacked myself. I think only adam could have gotten away with doing the gay priest thing. though my dad came in 1/2way through and thought adam was gay!
daniel kitson: rather amusing, laughed out loud a couple of times. though he tended to lose me slightly through it. interesting thing i noticed was that they cut to sharleen during his bit. no reaction from her. hehe
maria bamford: poster child for why american comedians don't work well here (apart from arj & rich hall). i speak fluent american and i could barely understand her.
danny bhoy: funny. nuff said. it's always the people with accents who do accents really well.
dave hughes: was ok, i don't find him funny anymore but it was a good performance. had balls going for the rape joke. pulled it off quite well.
howard read: interesting concept. the song idea got tired quickly but the overall effect was quite good. it was kind of Blue's Clues for adults.
fiona O'loghlin: my mum liked her
denise scott: love scotty, found it funny on a personal level cause everything she said is happening right now to my mum (cept mum tells people she's got a terminal disease)
sarah kendall: very good delivery. i find that a lot of her stuff doesn't get big laughs but people love her stuff. it's laughing on the inside
gud: bah! was expecting a lot didn't really get it. could barely make out what they were saying most of the time. worst part my mum thought it was funny (now she has been anti-mcdermott from the very beginning, like banning us from watching daas kap & the big gig). now she likes him. something is very wrong.
schneedles: mime is evil. mimes who talk are even worse
todd barry: not bad, got a couple of laughs out of me which is hard (I'm very much "make me laugh funny man") could be worth seeing. though i don't take kindly to people bagging Kyan from Queer Eye
Fleety: very unfleety like performance (though i tend to compare everything he does to the spartacus joke). though i did laugh quite a lot.
rob rouse: piece went to fast to really judge. only laughed during the chicks on motorbikes joke.
lee mack: want to marry him and have his children. i found the whole night amusing but few on laughs. But i fell off the lounge from cacking myself. LEAVE HIM ALONE HE'S ONLY A CHICKEN!!! |
