Of the list of acts already up on the comfest website, I'd put in serious recommendations for Ed Byrne, Stephen K Amos, Jason Byrne (and I CANNOT recommend him highly enough), Tim Minchin and possibly Laughapalooza if the line-ups are good and the Chopper impersonator isn't there (because he draws the wrong sort of crowd for musical comedy, his fans laughed at him and seemed confused by the songs last year).
Kitson was never one of my favourites, but his efforts comparing the midnight to dawn comedy at the HiFi last year (I don't know many comedians who could have kept coming back out over seven hours and kept the crowd in a good mood even when they were so tired nothing was funny) have convinced me it's worth taking another look. |
