*does a little dance* Tim'n'Eddie! And if Sam Bowring's involved, I won't be surprised to see a lot of other Sydney comics getting spots.
Not fussed on the standing audience concept though. Done that once and my feet hurt before it was half over. And I know how long a taping can run when things go wrong.
But I do like the idea of a variety show with stand up and musical comedy and bands and stuff. A new Big Gig would be fantastic to see on tv. It's not an easy format to maintain for any length of time, but it can do wonders for promoting comedians who aren't receiving the sort of recognition they deserve.
I wonder who'll host? Or if there'll even be a host? Curious about the suggestion that Paul is joining the team of writers, too. If it's a show featuring comedians and bands and stuff, there's not a huge amount that would need to be scripted by the production team, most of it would be material the performers have developed. |
