it was supposedly art on loan from wherever. Although there was a good chance it was just a mock one based on the piece of art. Mean to make you think..

I think that it might have been a bit more like the exhibition at that art show a few years back, where the 'artist' had a row of blenders, and each one had a goldfish in it... He artist was recently equited from animal cruelty charges. You can find out more here

and slightly OT but i found the last ep of the Micallef Pogramme on video. the one where they all get up and sing "Throw Your Arms Around Me" stanind on big yellow dots, then shaun wakes up screaming, classic

Missed the show, ho hum but this bloody fish story. I've heard it somewhere else just recently as well and we all know the bloody story is as old as - I'm sure it was on GNW ages ago. Unless it's been reproduced some shows are using old old old material.

It wasn't anything great really, I just found it funny:

Micallef said 'and now its time for a celebrity outing', he turned to francis, francis said 'paul mcdermott... yes, paul mcdermott' and micallef said 'thats not really what I was expecting.'

There you have it people.

the fish thing is actually relatively new. As in this PARTICULAR fish one

at the beginning they showed a a newspaper clipping of the art

it wasn't a row of blenders just the one with two fish in it.

It was on GNW back in 2000, the story is back in the news cause the artist has been on trail this month for animal cruelty.

About time I'd say, it might stop some other artists from pulling the same stunt. Haven't cows been killed on stage before in the name of art? Thanks for the line used on Micallef, could it have been just a play on words or something like McDermott no longer a celebrity as in the word out, as I said didn't see the show and don't know the spot at all. Meanwhile in other celebrity outings, Rove McManus ... No? Gold Logie you say? Shit.

Considering Micallefs pretty wacko humour, I'm positive he meant gay outing. Paul McDermott would have been an obscure choice if they wanted it to mean 'out of celebrity-ism'. And because there has always been such speculation over his sexuality in the past, it was most amusing... the audience had quite a startled laugh!

I don't mean to be picky but he didn't say 'celebrity outing' he said 'public outing'. As in going to take the public out somewhere. Then Francis said 'Paul McDermott... yes Paul McDermott' to imply that he is gay. It took me a few seconds to realise what the joke was cause at first I thought maybe Paul would be there or on some footage. Thought the joke was hilarious though.

At the end of the show Shaun did start the blenders. He leant back on his desk and 'accidently' hit the button. Then you could see bits of fish going round and round. (obviously done on purpose and fake fish bits in there at this time)
