Super Happy Robot Hour fundraiser

THAT EIGHTIES GIG - Scott’s Comedy Festival fundraiser

Yes, that’s right, I’m holding a fundraiser for my comedy festival show. It’s called “That Eighties Gig” and it’ll be a night of comedy about all things 80’s, featuring Dexter from Perfect Match and the Dalek, as well as actual human comedians like Dave Callan (from some TV show), Justin Hamilton (from some radio station), Adrian Calear, Justin Kennedy and others. Oh, I might also appear on stage at some point.

There’ll be door prizes of wacky eighties stuff on the night and a raffle for a full-size replica R2D2, which will be drawn at a later date.

Now I know that you’ve all supported me in many ways in the past so I can’t just demand that you turn up and fork over your dough but darn it, that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. Turn up!! Bring friends!! Bring LOTS of friends!! If this night doesn’t work then my festival show doesn’t happen!!
There! Was that enough emotional blackmail? Ah, just kidding. I really do need people to turn up, but don’t stress if you can’t make it. But you have to promise to try and send along 8 friends in your stead.

WHERE: The Old Colonial Hotel, 127 Brunswick St Fitzroy.
WHEN: Wednesday the 28th of January, 8.30pm until late.
HOW MUCH: $10 each, or $8 with group concession (8 or more people).
WHY: Because Scotty needs you! And it’ll be a kick-ass night of really cool comedy.

Thanks, guys. One step closer to the glory that will be my comedy festival show, the Super Happy Robot Hour!

Nope. Why?? Wre you planning on 'earning' one?

:p

The door prizes I've got planned (I've got one in the bag already) are pretty cool, but I won't spoil the surprises.

Well, I'm disgusted at your behaviour! Bleeding these poor people dry to support your comedy habbit.

I would never dream of using these people as pubicity for a Comefest show.............................Nicko & Joe - Songs we think we know, Portland Hotel, 115 Russell st, 7.15pm, march 25th - April 17th Tue-Sat............I think it's terrible what you're doing.

Although I am bumbed i shan't be able to go and therefore enter the draw for the life size R2D2 :o(

The rational part of me knows that you meant to say "comedy habit", but a small part of me hopes that you meant to say "comedy hobbit". I so, so want a comedy hobbit.

That sounds brilliant ... won't be in Melbourne, but I'll try to catch your show in Adelaide? Parramatta? (you doing those festivals?) I'm trying to make it to Melbourne too, but my wallet might not stretch that far.

btw: Hate to be a wet blanket, but isn't the dalek a 60s icon? I guess they never really went out of fashion, so ... plus, the notorious Aussie nudie dalek photo spread might have been in the 80s.

This is the second Dr. Who comment I've posted today. I scare me.

Nah, was just being a shit... I'm not like that... honest!

I'll be there most likely.. just depends on the money situation here. Damn Centrelink!

Nope. Even if i could afford to transport myself to those fetivals I couldn't afford to transport all the robots and the rest of the crew. I guess we'll never have an Edinburgh Robot Hour either.

Yes. Yes it is. But he's not appearing as an 80's icon, he's appearing as a stand-up. He'll have to write some new 80's material.

Now with added Toby!

Toby Sullivan has just confirmed his spot (oooh, who else is hiding behind the mysterious "and others"??). Yay!! Toby is one of my all-time favourite comedians, and his gigs are way too rare.

1) Go back in time about 10 years

2) Tape about 10 episodes of 'Now You See It' for me. On VHS!!!

3) Bring the tape back to the present for me.

That'd REALLY help!

WHOOO! Mike Meade ROCKS!!
He actually does - he used to be in a rock quartet. Okay, for 5 points o the board, what was the name of the group and who else was in it?

Err no! :P

But I want my points...

It was actually a quintet :P
The Lemming Quintet was made up of Mark Holden, Ross Ryan, Mike Meade, someone called Paul, and a cardboard cutout named Bruce.... I don't remember Paul's full name.

How'd I do?

Hey GM, someone brought up a very valid point for me the other day.

you've got all these cool TV robots, are the any plans for a Kryten?

Cam - where do you even keep a cunt once you've cut it out?
Mick - on a piano stool.
