Can someone give me a comparative review and let me know if the content is significantly different so I can decide whether to go or not? I love the boy but do I love him enough to see the same material twice. Although if he sing Trascendence it's worth the ticket price alone. Note: I typed singes instead of sings hmm maybe there's something in that.

Well I went to the show last night and found it to be absolutely awesome, however I didn't see GUD or Gud Ugh so I don't know about the whole content thing and I can't give you a comparative review. But yeah, the show was awesome, despite the crowd being a bit difficult. But as pretty much everyone knows (well I'm assuming people know since I'd heard from other people but only saw it for myself for the first time last night) Paul is excellent at warming up a crowd, and the three of them are great at finding someone to pick on, and then by picking on that person they end up greatly improving the atmosphere in the room. Individual responses on the three of them, (considering that this was the first time I was properly exposed to GUD, I'm not really counting 'For Holly' because that was much too short a bit). Cameron really is one very very strange man during the show. and afterwards he was so friendly, it really did make me walk away thinking "GUD are fantastic, I wonder if I can find a way of seeing them perform again". Mick, he's very much the quiet one who gets picked on all the time and yeah, the one you would vote off *g* despite his talents because you want to see Cam and Paul continue to pick on each other and the audience. And Paul, I've never really regarded myself as a "true Paul fan" considering that the whole time I've been into comedy I've been surrounded by Paul fans who have been fans for a long long time and I felt that I could never claim to be a fan when most "true Paul fans" have had a huge experience of Paul compared to me... I mean last night was only the second time I've seen Paul live, I only really saw a few episodes of Good News Week because I wasn't allowed to watch it, I was too young for DAAS and the Big Gig, too young for Triple J Brekkie with Paul and Mikey. I came across comedy at the tail end of Paul's really high days, so I felt it would be unfair to call myself a Paul fan. That's why it was so surprising seeing Paul live. I'd never experienced the whole "picking on the audience" thing that Paul does. I'd certainly heard about it and I'd seen the bits that were on the GNW Unseen and Obscene, but it was pretty cool seeing it for the first time because he's just so damn good at it. At the same time so are Cam and Mick (to an extent). It was really obvious how perfected the show is, and you would expect that considering that it is the third show GUD has done, and they have just come from Comfest so you would expect a very high quality show. I hope the ramblings of a first-time GUD audience member help convince people to go see Sulid Gud, because it is a VERY good show. One final note... littlemissb, did you end up going last night? I don't suppose you knew who the heckler up the back was? (The one to whom Cam responded "You have been in a conversation before?") I'm not supposing it was you, I'm just thinking that you might have had an idea of who it was (they certainly were a bit of a comedy fan cos they responded to the references to Tripod, DAAS, Wil, Rove). And sorry for rambling all over the place, it was all a review of the show, I wasn't meaning to go off-topic.

We saw the show last night and it was pretty good. I haven't seen any other of the Gud shows so I really didn't know what had been scripted in, or if what was being done was just completely random. Cam was very cool. He's my fav in the group. Mick hardly ever says anything, he may as well not be there :P And Paul, he's a good performer, but a bit of a wank off stage. (eh, apparently he has better days, but meh, he was being a dickhead last night) That aside, the show was great. The opening is scary ![]() And my sister is hoping on going sometime this week, so if she can i might go down again with her. See, i didn't not like the show! I did like it ![]()

But yeah, I wasn't at all freaked out when they came running out because, knowing "Carmina Burana" I actually anticipated that they would come rushing out at the forte bit. I'm just disappointed that the translation of the singing isn't highly appropriate (or is it?) A translation is found here interpret it however you want. *takes her nerdyness elsewhere* Oh and Myth, ideally that would be the case, but there will always be someone who feels that they are somewhat superior because they've been a fan for longer.

I concur with Laney I'm sorry but Paul was not nice last night...wait correction he was not nice to select amount of people! The whole ordering people to get him a drink and then handing me money and telling me what he wanted and not even making eye contact! It wasn't even an easy drink to get and I couldn't get it then going back and asking what else he wanted blah blah! Plus the thoughtful thanks I got afterwards HA! NON EXISTANT... he didn't even mean it! The show was great but the afterwards ruined it....

| MOSHer | I kinda worry about the whole 'picking on the audience' thing. Yeah, it's funny and everything, but if I got singled out, I'd probably cry. I'm the biggest sook, and so afraid of being the centre of attention. Probably why I've only ever seen Paul live once. :p Wonder if that's ever happened to Paul before? Really upset someone, I mean. | ||

Oh man, I love that piece! Last year when seventeen members of my extended family got together we did this thing where - embrace the geekness, folks - we each chose six songs that meant a great deal to us and somehow described a facet of ourselves and played them and explained what they meant to us, and the "O Fortuna" was one of mine. Sounds tres nerd - well hey, it is! - but it's fun. Quote:

1) Don't sit in the front 2 - 3 rows (thats as far as most of them can see) 2) Don't sit on the aisle. Sit in the middle 3) Don't yell out stupid comments so they don't try to track you down 4) Don't be from Adelaide so when Paul starts being mean about Adelaide, your friends don't all start pointing at you and laughing
