The Scree in Adelaide

Just found out that there is a free screening of The Scree at the Nova on Rundle Street TODAY at 5:45pm. Not sure how many people that is relevant to.

it was a really good movie..all the monsters were paul's drawings, pupeteered(sp?)
Music was fantastic, and was narrated by Ruth Cracknel(again, sp?)

Hehe, Paul looked really worried, cos no-one was showing up. He sat on the steps looking sad..I had to laugh. In the end it turned out to be a row of Cam and his friends, myself and my mate, then behind us Mick and his friends...was a very wierd experience...good film though

Was there much notice or publicity for it?

Show it in Sdyney Paul, we'll have a full theatre for it even if we have to drag people kicking and screaming to it!

The only publicity he had was a sign on the NOVA door. I only saw it cos I dropped off a thing for radio which was held on the alcony for the fringe.

He tried to get on the show they were doing, but the woman who was running it was the same one GUD gave a hard time when they were in the station last year...so they were'nt to willing to help.

He went out on the street and tried to give out fliers...no-one was buying it.

Plus, GUD cancelled the show tonight, just when I was going to take my little sis to see it

They cancelled last night and are sold out tonight. Just when I convinced parentals that it would be a good idea to 'shout' their daughter to one last show.

Zinja and I hassled the Nova staff from about 4pm yesterday trying to see if they would play it again.

The guy was really nice and said that Paul was very paranoid about it because it was the only copy he had, and he didn't want anything happening to it.

He said for us to come back at 5:15pm and check again cause that was the time Paul decided the day before to come in a play it.

But alas they didnt play it, even though Zinja and I got Sooty into town and then the 3 of us hassled them constantly.

Saw that Gud was cancelled...the 11th was cancelled as well. Very strange.

Word in the Regal was, that Gud also DIED at Spinning wheel on Friday night!!.

I just saw the signs on Friday night at 9:45pm, so it wasn't much good to me then. But Paul was drinking and talking with people after Gud and looked, on the whole, pretty gregorious, and was still there when Daniel Kitson's show let out. (about 11pm). I would have loved to have seen the movie! Why didn't he just advertise it a bit earlier? Were those Gud shows cancelled because of lack of interest, or what?

Totally agree - except I wouldn't kick or scream, unless you asked me nicely. I reckon if they actually publicised it, heaps of people would come and see it.

Maybe he can work out a way of showing it before the Gud shows @ the Opera house in a few months. Surely they'd have a projector lying around somewhere. Don't hide your light under a bushel, Paul!
