I think it's only fair that I put everyone's curiosity at ease - the girl that Paul was getting it on with was me. *reminds everyone here that I'm only being a tool in case someone takes that the wrong way and thinks I am actually serious and/or insane* :) hehe

*sings* I sucked the penis of the little baby Jesus. I'm a gay man for Christ and there is no doubt. I let him come into my heart, let him come into my mind, But I won't let him come into my mouth. *stops singing* Same song, every time people ask him to sing and he wants to shit them off by not singing properly  I've heard it SO many times I sing along now! So, um, yeah, the show...I DID write a great big long response to everything, but then Exploder bloody collapsed on me (again) and even though I tried to copy and paste, it didn't work, so I'm having to attempt to re-write... The lovely young lady Paul was with WAS Jo, I recognised her from somewhere...and I left with the impression "Awww, don't they look cute together"...but that might just have been the result of my Baileys-blurred vision... The "Yanks" were annoying, and you got the impression that, ten years ago, Paul woulda throttled them, but he was trying to stick with the "well-behaved" thing, and so just ended up yelling at them a lot :) As for being accidentally groped by Paul, the friend I went with managed to nearly knock him over twice, due to alcohol...naturally, she found it quite amusing  Excellent review work, DG, I woulda offered my own comments, but I was a little inebriated on Monday, and don't remember too many details  Oh, and the rocket ship is the backdrop for Club Luna... Paul needs to work more on his stand-up style...whatever else he is, a stand-up he ain't...he does tend to work better when he's working with someone, hence why the Paul + Mikey dynamic always worked well. As it was, he needs much more practice...which means many more shows  It was amusing to see him get hit with spinach though, and have trouble dealing with the "Yanks"...but I think he'd had a few too many of the free VB's. He also needs to get used to the fact that at an over-18s gig there won't be so many screaming teenyboppers who'll laugh at anything and everything he says, like there frequently were at GNW tapings... It probably says a lot about me that my favourite part of his performance was when the mike stand (which he'd been knocking back and forth, and swinging all over the place all night) FINALLY fell into the audience :fingerch: Hey, I can laugh at his humiliation, the bastard's gotten bloody Bootylicious stuck in my head, and that song is evil... Didn't take any photos, sorry...where I was sitting, I would have needed the flash, and that just would have been suicidal...besides, he hasn't changed much, still suited, still spikey...use your imaginations...gray suit (not the shiny night light one, though), dark grey shirt, red tie... Loved Peter Berner's set, once again arguing in favour of legalising pot (think he's trying to tell us something?), James O'Loghlin was PISHED, and very funny, Sarah Kendall is usually much better, but I think she'd been hitting the performer's free VB a little hard as well... TOP NIGHT! And it looked like all the comics were having a good night as well, and that can only be good for the show...

It was good reliving Paul run-ins. I made a friend halfway through the night - an Old rich man, who seemed very opinionated about paul, but who turned out to be rather hypocritical. He kept stating how much "that host fellow" kept swearing and that every second word he said was "fuck". I told him that's just how he is. Then during the 3rd or 2nd break Paul approached us and asked where the short little man next to us had gone. And we started talking and the old guy who i think was called Mike started congratulating paul on being funny. Then I got wedged inbetween a man and paul and the guys from the band. Paul just laughed (IN MY EAR THOUGH!!) Then slightly intoxicated, I sat at a table with two people I didn't know and watched the rest of the show. The old guy left - Finally! And I rejoiced. James was funny and I never knew Anthony Akroyd was such a good singer. Wow! Top night! ;)

Ah, it's so nice reading about the Paul run-ins, since as usual I didn't even notice he'd walked out in the break until I turned my head and there he was. Then of course I wasn't about to start gawking. At least, not obviously. :) Alisso, glad that you could supply those important details about who Paul was with :) And good point about Paul working better with support, too. I'm kind of hoping he goes into musical theatre actually, then he'll be forced to sing! I don't remember the mike stand! Did he have to go after it? You reminded me though - remember when the annoying Yank woman jumped onto the stage and chased Paul - geez, he does a very good terrified look, huh? I thought at first she might have been a guest, but I guess the later rudeness pretty much ruled that out... Kara - I probably shouldn't say this but - was the table you sat at the one right next to the entry, to the right? Because we had a spare seat and so a couple of people grabbed a chair during the night. :) If it was you rest assured I can't even remember what you looked like except you have long dark hair and were clutching a beer  dg

Weeeell, I didn't see them *doing* much, just he came and sat next to her and she put her head on his shoulder (everyone ready? Collective awwwwwww!) and they were talking and stuff... And I think part of the reason they weren't seen together much was that she didn't have much cause to go to tapings, or sit in the audience if she did go, and for the five years GNW was on, tapings were about the only public things Paul did...'cept celeb parties and stuff...and he didn't go to many of those...
