*hops on bandwagon*

I'd say Middleborough Road is more about, as they said, 'proving that they are a band with jokes, not comedians with a guitarist'. A fair bit of the comedy is lost.

Hey, this isn't *exactly* on topic but it's not far off: did any comedians perform during the Arias? I missed it all except for about 30 seconds but I could swear that Rove mentioned the Hillsong Crew, which is the Pinch's Christian Rap parody group.

I didn't see them perform, and I watched most of it, up until they announced the comedy winners, then I went back to my assignment. Rove definitely did mention them, or someone with a similar name, though...

Nah, they didn't perform. Rove just kept mentioning them in some of his jokes is all.

Mom: Well, we could join together in prayer.
Son: Uh huh. Is there anything useful we can do?
Mom: No.

Ok, I don't know anything much about hillsong (excluding plenty of jokes) so excuse my religious ignorance but how were they up for an aria? I thought they were a church, albeit a 'trendy church' with the 'rockin music' and all that, but what, do they have specific hillsong band or some gospel cd release or something...?

i live in the area and the hillsong people are a nightmare. most of our street has been bought out by hillsong people and for a while it got to the stage where you couldn't leave the house without being harrassed for being a heathen and attempts to convert you.

"trendy" church with a merchandise store the size of most bookstores. they sell everything from self help books (including sexual stuff which is stupid cause they were anti-sex), clothes, mugs and cd's. with such a large congregation whenever they release the cd's they get people to go and buy them in bulk. our neighbours have boxes of them in their garage.

they rely mainly on income from their patrons. in the bible it mentions in the old days that people would make a donation of 10% of their salary to the church. it was a reccommendation, and hillsong have made it compulsory.

its very evangelical (i.e a crock of shit) lots of arm waving and people getting "healed" its the worlds biggst cult and they are too dumb to realise it. they even had john howard open the new hillsong church and are have connections to some very powerful people in the community. and allegedly rumoured to be behind the stopping of the local muslim prayer centre

Great. My sister is living in London at the moment, and I have just been informed that she has become entrapped by the creepy hillsong cult - the London chapter! I thought it was very amusing seeing as we come from a fairly agnostic type of background, but now I’m just scared. I hope it is a phase... Mind you, this just gives me loads more ammunition to make fun of her... mwahahaha

She better not try to convert me though... I will tell her where to go in the most unchristian way possible... ie

Yesterday's Simpsons episode was the Movementarian one, with the freaky cult and the Leader. Revernd Lovejoy and Groundskeeper Willy will sort her out.
