Well, while the boys didn't finish off with quite the "bang" that I'd hoped for last week, the final of the series of Pod August Nights was still a corker. The audience for that night also seemed to be the most responsive and appreciative *that I've seen over the last 6 weeks (I'm not saying that previous audiences WEREN'T appreciative, though), which was great. :) Tripod started the set strongly with their version of Sweet Caroline, which has proved to be the crowd's favourite Neil Diamond cover, having been played 3 times out of the 6 nights. It was great to see Science Facts again, which had become one of my new faves after seeing it a couple of weeks ago!! I Don't Know Much About Sport sounded much better this time round (it had been debuted last week) without the confusing second verse, in my opinion. The second half of the show began with a blistering reindition of Crap Karate (with some uhhh "choice" moves - and sound effects - from Gatesy) and Ugly Men, and the boys then went on to treat us to classic songs like Fabian and Ancestors... not to mention Melbourne Girl again, which has fast become another favourite of mine (both for the gags and also musically, it's beautiful). Personal highlights: Sweet Caroline, Science Facts, Naked Chef, Crap Karate, Fabian, Melbourne Girl, Cherry Cherry, Ancestors. It's extremely saddening to know that I can't look forward to seeing my favourite musical comedy trio again this weekend, but I guess after 6 weeks they deserve a very well-earned break. See all you Podsters at the video night. :)

I thought Saturday's show was absolutely fantastic, I loved every minute of it, and wasn't in the least disappointed. It was only my second Prince Pat show, and I was really happy to finally get to see/hear some of the songs that you guys are always talking about, such as Fabian, Hot Dog Man and Crap Karate. I haven't laughed so much for... well, two weeks (because I went and saw them two weeks ago! Hehe!). My one wish, at the beginning of the night, was for them to do the Naked Chef Song, and they did, which I was absolutely thrilled about! I think the highlight, though, was the singalong Sweet Caroline, it was a lot of fun. :star: It was great to meet some of you guys, too, finally put some faces to all the names. :0)

Yeah!!! When I was talking about the fantastic audience responsiveness, I was referring to Sweet Caroline in particular - that was the BEST singalong I've EVER heard! And do you remember afterwards with Barbara Ann?? Everyone was even in harmony!! And it was nice to meet you too, Claire - even though it was for 5 seconds and I was slurring all my words (we started drinking at about 2:30pm).

Saturday night's show was brilliant I thought, the only thing that slightly wrecked it were the people behind us who insisted on saying the punchlines before the guys could, or singing along, especially during Cowboy. It was VERY distracted and I was close to getting violent  Aaaaaanyway, it was a great setlist for the final show - so glad they did Sweet Caroline again, cause I LOVE that. And the audience participation was indeed brilliant, I cannot believe we all sang Barbara Ann so perfectly in harmony  And Cherry Cherry as well, I am SO going to miss Scod's Neil Diamond impersonations :( Also glad to see Ugly Men, Ancestors, California Dreaming, Fabian & Krap Karate again .. and one of my all-time favorites the Hot Dog Man! I LOVE that song!! It was just a great show and a great way to finish off Pod August Nights .. so now we look forward to the video night, and after that I guess it'll be a long wait til the Xmas show.

Singalongs are one thing, but two women singing along loudly behind you to almost every song is just NOT ON!!! That was really the only bad thing about the night. I loved the whole thing :) I still love Sweet Caroline and the Hotdog Man. Already I'm having withdrawel symptoms because I know that after going there every Saturday for six weeks, it is to be know more... I want them back :( Well at least there's some kop gigs and the Comedy Video Night and Comedians on Parade this month :)

Yes yes, don't have much time so I'll just say - LOVED the show, it rocked.. and yes.. I almost turned around and abused those bloody people behind us. but other than that - brilliant show.. *sighs* I'm all sad now, I've been listening to Tripod on my walkman today but it just doesn't suffice.. the withdrawel symptoms are setting in.. I whimper at the mention of Hot Dogs, and I'm yearning for a good Sailor dance.. although.. I got lotsa that dancin' on Saturday night.. *ahem*.. so yes.. suckyness.. I miss my podboys and I want more shows now now now now nooowww.. hehe I'll live. *sings california dreaming quietly to herself* seeya leish
