You had the Black Sea Gentlemen last week. *shrugs*

Go talk to owners of pubs, or the unibar. Ask them if they would like to start up a comedy night? Give them the contacts of A-list and get them on the circut.

Although you want comedy frequently you wont always get the best acts.

here's an idea: leave wollongong. worked for me.

Adam and Wil will be here soon. And GUD were here a month ago. And Carl Baron seems to come back a little too often. There's funny theatre around the place at times. You just have to keep an eye out.

But I agree...we do need more comedy, God knows the whole place is a bit of a laugh! But I love it...well, the Northern suburbs especially.

See now this is what I think they should do with the Regent instead of turning it into a church. I'd make it aa comedy/live/cafe/cinema/whatever venue! But then I don't have a few mil to buy and renovate the place!

It was the bestest cinema. So cool. Shame it is no more.

So far this year I've seen, in Wollongong... the IPAC mainly
Ross Noble, Carl Barron, the roadshow, Akmal and Gud and I'm off to see Adam and Wil next month.
Wollongong's not too bad for comedy. It's not too far from Sydney either. I've found it's fun to go to Sydney and see a show and stay in a fancy hotel for the night... doing that the day after I see Adam and Wil

Talking about the regent theatre, what suburb was it in?

Hobart has had GUD, Adam and Wil, Tripod (albeit far too briefly at the end of a really shit Amateur Night) and The MICF Roadshow this year (correct me if I missed any). We had Carl Barron too, but I think that was last year. And we get Hale and Pace soon. So we've got quality, if not quantity.

Pardon? You don't know where the icon of the Illawarra is?!

It's on Keira Street, Wollongong. Just north of Wollongong Central. Just south of a little travel shop with lots of globes in the windows, across from that Bali type homewares shop (Gecko something or other I think it's called), and those Asian restaurants. Near the Keira Street main bus stop. Ya can't miss her!

I forgot about the Roadshow - that wasn't bad though last years was way funnier...And Ross Nobel, that were amusing. See not so bad really.

I would feel sorry for you, but I live in Canberra. I'm going to Wollongong to see Adam and Wil in a couple of weeks and went to Shellharbour to see Gud recently... it's dire when we can't even get Gud to come to Canberra when 2/3 of them are from here!

Thankya Stevie. I don't think I've ever been to the regent... not sure. The Gala in Warrawong was really the only cinema I used to go to and these days it's the Shellharbour Greater union which is most convenient. The reason I asked where the regent was, was cause I had an arguement with my mum about where we saw the premier of Casper when I was about 10. I'm pretty sure it wasn't in Wollongong.

Last year's roadshow was definately better than this years. This year's proved that most of the hecklers in the gong suck. Which show were you at? The first or the one with the loud Canadian dude in the audience?

I don't even know hey...I think that was where someone heckled about Jockeys and everyone thought he said Chockie (as in what you might call a chocolate) so it totally didn't make sense.

I remember one McDermott show, it must have been last year - with either GUD or The Rat Pack, and there was a good heckler - but a rarity!

It's kind of a shame ya don't get more at the UniBar - but it's kind of out of the way and no one really goes there. Hmmmm, bummer.

yeah, it was the rat pack. i was the one who arranged to have a 3some with mcdermott and my friend he sung the song to me. then wen ross noble was in town, i talked to him, i was the one with 10 women in the front row. the tall one, mr basketball mega man king of wollongong aka the tingle master. wen i saw more comedy, i really do mean tripod :P and lano and woodley, some more melbourne comedians.

i tihnk the idea for the regent is spectacular. ive got $5 on me, how much do u have? lets buy it.
