Adelaide Fringe Festival

I just think that one of Australia's biggest festivals has been overlooked by MOSH so thought I might start the thread myself, seein' as there'll be plenty o' comedians there.

So who's planning on going? I know I am!

It doesn't start till late February?
It's not really overlooked, it's just people tend to wait for the Melbourne festival, especially if they're going to have to travel interstate, since the MICF is much more "comedy" than "fringe" (ie; funny vs weird )

I think you'll find some people will talk about it closer to the time it's on. I think there's a couple of Adelaidians on the forum who might go.

The Melbourne Comedy Fest starts after the Fringe and there's already several posts about it.

I'm gonna touch as many comedians' hands as possible. This project may call for me to continue it during the melbourne comedy fest.

probably because as a comedy message board, more people attend the comedy festival than the fringe. Simply because theres more comedy on there.

That said, I'm hoping to drop into Adelaide for a weekend. You'd think I'd learn from the first two times, but no.

That's just freaky. I say that as a comedian. Please don't touch my hand or any other part of me.

We've got specific folders for comfest cause so many of us attend, but not that many of us can afford to do both festivals, so mostly only the Adelaide people and a few Melbournians go to fringe, so fringe doesn't get as much discussion.

And the posts that already exist for comfest 06 appear to relate to moosehead recipients (announced in November 05), the sale of comfest tickets and vouchers (announced by the festival in November for sale in December) and transport to Melbourne (started cause Virgin had a sale on) - so they've all been started because information pertaining to the festival was announced, rather than because people are getting more excited about comfest earlier than fringe.

I'm sure if people have announcements to make about fringe, they'll start posts *G*

"Mr. Al & Mr. Nick: A Fistful of Regret" is going to Adelaide. If anyone's around, we'd love to see you. We'll be ever so lonely. And we could only afford to do one festival, so if you wanna see us, you have to see us in
Adelaide... We'll be drunk punters like everyone else during MICF.

Mr. Nick.

For those of you going to the Fringe, my favorite Pagan singer/musician is playing the Spiegeltent on Sunday, Feb 26. Her name is Wendy Rule and she is amazing.

I've lived in adelaide for over 20 years now, and my limbs are all still attached! My parents are even from snowtown and used to do their banking there, and we're all fine. I think.
And yeah, I know, the whole 'adelaide' thing, but we have pale ale! mmmm beer...

But how much money I have determines how much I'll be there, cos I'm going to clipsal 500 as well.

So who are people hoping to see at fringe?

DON'T PANIC.
