Sorry, Episode 33's gonna be a bit late, but when it arrives (probably Monday during the day) it'll feature Amelia Jane Hunter, Joe 'Shaddup You Face' Dolce and Hannah Gadsby.

Gig guide should be up this evening as normal.

Cheers,
Dom

Radio Ha Ha Ep 34 (available via www.radiohaha.com.au now!) features as guest co-host stand-up comic Dave Jory (a Raw Comedy national finalist, and a very dry comic - who could pass for a hitman, apparently. Oh, and I'm discovering that he's a bit of a closet film nerd).

Stand-up is provided by:
  • Sam Bowring (shortlisted for Best Newcomer, MICF 2006, and runs Mic in Hand at the Friend in Hand Hotel with Kent Valentine);
  • Mat Kenneally (who featured in Comedy Zone, MICF 2006, and has already improved in leaps and bounds beyond that impressive piece of work!) .

All the comedy was recorded live at the Mic in Hand, with one snippet - uncredited and I apologise - from Sydney's Original Comedy Store.

Enjoy.

Addendum

The new and improved gig guide's just gone up now. It now stretches beyond Sydney - but not far enough. It's got a bit of Queensland, a lot of Melbourne and a couple of Perth venues. But it doesn't include Tasmania or the Territories. (Someone's sorting me out for Adelaide.) If anyone can clue me up via website links please do so, either via my own e-mail address, or radiohaha@2gb.com. We try and compile the gig guide on the previous Monday, and it takes in the Friday to the Thursday after.

Cheers,
Dom

Radio Ha Ha Episode 35

I'm so chuffed - this episode is co-hosted by Judith Lucy - performing the Sydney run of I Failed! at the Seymour Centre until August 6 - and features an interview with Wil Anderson - whose totally sold-out Sydney run of Wil Communication ends July 30. Plus I've used a bit more comedy from one of my favourite funny and intelligent relative newbies, Mat Kenneally.

The live Mat Kenneally material was recorded at the Mic in Hand, as was one snippet of the Wil material - the rest comes from a Comedy Store gig from late last year, when Wil helped launch a certain joke book called Have You Heard The One About.

You can download Episode 35 now at www.radiohaha.com.au.

Cheers,
Dom

Radio Ha Ha Episode 36

For Episode 36, my co-host is former San Franciscan Chuck Boyd who, in addition to being a stand-up comic, was one of the main forces behind the Sydney Underground Comedy DVD.

And so we feature some of the comedy Chuck Boyd, as well as that of former Melbourne stand-up — turned Hobart stand-up — Gavin Baskerville (recorded, as was Chuck, at Mic in Hand, at the Friend in Hand Hotel, Glebe) and Lila Tillman (recorded at Comedy on the Rox, at the Roxbury Hotel, Glebe).

Plus, in honour of Lano & Woodley taking out the inaugural Helpmann Award for Comedy on July 31st, we play a bit of Lano & Woodley in song.

The file lives here:

http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ohahaep036.mp3

or you can peruse the 'back catalogue', as it were, via

www.radiohaha.com.au

Enjoy.

Shane Dundas of the Umbilical Brothers co-hosts Episode 37 of Radio Ha Ha, featuring comedy from Kent Valentine, the Umbilical Brothers and Flacco, with a big Paul Livingstone interview regarding Unleashing the Imbecile Within.

Also, the gig guide. Listen - hear the gaps - please help me fill them!

Available for download now: www.radiohaha.com.au

Much thanks to Danisa for supplying her video collection for the Flacco soundbites - and kudos to Katrant for inspiring the 'laughter'.

Cheers,
Dom

Episode 38 of Radio Ha Ha, available for download now, is Aussie as!

It's co-hosted by Aussie poet… ahem, Aussie story tellerMurray Hartin, and features some of his… stories… at least one of which rhymes…

In addition, Episode 38 features comedy from:
  • Dave Hughes (a snippet from his new DVD, Dave Hughes Live, courtesy of Token Events);
  • Andrew Hansen of The Chaser (from the Chaser's War on Everything DVD, courtesy of Craig Reucassel and the Chaser gang); and
  • Austen Tayshus (from the impressive new CD box set Simply the Best Comedy Collection).
You can download it - and a rather extensive gig guide (which now includes Tasmanian dates, even if the descriptor on the website doesn't reflect that) - from www.radiohaha.com.au.

Edgy? I'll give you Edgy…

Eddie Ifft, presenting a bunch of his stand-up, plus that of Brett Nichols, with a bit of soon-to-be-touring Pam Ayres, and sooner-to-be touring Lily Tomlin, all in the filled-to-the-brim Episode 39 of Radio Ha Ha. Listen now at www.radiohaha.com.au

Edit:

I forgot to mention - there's also a bit of Chris Rock, from that CD box set, Simply the Best Comedy Collection!

Cheers, Kat, hope you like Episode 41 as much:

It's got heaps of comedy from co-host Chris Wainhouse, and a bit from Desh (all recorded at Sydney's Original Comedy Store).

Plus, for the purposes of comedy nerdery, some archival comedy from Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock (Tony Hancock to his mates) and Sid James - courtesy of Hancock's Half Hour Volume 2 newly released on DVD - and, to prove a point, The Goodies.

And of course there's the ever-growing Radio Ha Ha Gig Guide.

Available for download from www.radiohaha.com.au
