It's got heaps of comedy from co-host Chris Wainhouse, and a bit from Desh (all recorded at Sydney's Original Comedy Store). Plus, for the purposes of comedy nerdery, some archival comedy from Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock (Tony Hancock to his mates) and Sid James - courtesy of Hancock's Half Hour Volume 2 newly released on DVD - and, to prove a point, The Goodies. And of course there's the ever-growing Radio Ha Ha Gig Guide. Available for download from www.radiohaha.com.au

It used to be on just before Dr Who......oh my god, i'm showing my age...... I'll download the podcast tonight when I get home from work.

Let me just say first off that for this episode there should have been, somewhere, a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference. In my defence, when the basic material was recorded, I wasn't sure if it would be episode 41 or 42. (I mean, I know the difference - we were up to Episode 41, but I recorded the raw material for two episodes in the one day and wasn't sure what order they'd get broadcast…) However, by the time you deal with all of the new material from co-host Justin Hamilton plus comedy from Michael Chamberlin (skitHouse, Rove), Peter Cook & Dudley Moore, Derek & Clive and Kenneth Williams (Oooo-eeerrr!) it's not gonna matter much to you. Listen now at www.radiohaha.com.au and also have a listen to the all new Australia wide comedy gig guide. That's if you want to. No pressure - ZAAAAAAAAR! ![]() Last edited by Dom Romeo; 15-09-2006 at 10:30 AM.

With co-host Paul Dovas (Editor, Ha! Magazine), presenting an interview with poop technician Kenny Smythe - star of the mockumentary Kenny - plus comedy from:

The Grand Final Week Special features co-host Anh Do (co-writer and star of Footy Legends), presenting comedy by Josh Thomas (currently touring Melbourne), Glenn Butcher (from Full Frontal) and Steve Abbott, aka The Sandman. And the Radio Ha Ha Australia-wide gig guide is massive - though thin-on-the-ground for WA and TAS dates (if anyone knows anyone who can help rectify this, don't hesitate…) Listen now. Or at your earliest convenience, of course: www.radiohaha.com.au

Episode 45 of Radio Ha Ha could probably do with more comedy - even though it features Steve Martin, Tommy Dean and Mat Kenneally - because I was having too much fun chatting to my co-host, Tara Moss - mostly about her new book Hit. Try and enjoy it as much as I clearly am! (Regular comedy nerdery will return as normal next week.) The gig guide is up as well. www.radiohaha.com.au Last edited by Dom Romeo; 06-10-2006 at 07:05 PM.

Fans of Hannah Gadsby, and certainly, viewers of the 2006 Raw Comedy Final will be aware of her 'tribute' to Pam Ayres, and those who don't really ought to listen to Ep 33 of Radio Ha Ha (download at http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ohahaep033.mp3 or listen online at www.radiohaha.com.au). As it happens, comic, poet and author Pam Ayres is currently touring Australia, and took the opportunity to join me as this week's co-host; in addition to presenting much of her own work, we listened to a humorous poem by Shirley Friend, and to Hannah's routine, with Pam having right of reply. Enjoy. Now. At www.radiohaha.com.au. It's a real DOOZY. And the gig guide's up as well, of course.

Episode 47 went up as normal yesterday, but I was just a bit slack getting notice in this here forum; my apologies. I'm very pleased to type that Episode 47 contains an interveiw with Thank God You're Here's Tom Gleisner, with comedy from Santo Cilauro and Akmal Saleh (thank god they were there!) courtesy of the DVD of Season One of Thank God You're Here (available to buy from November 1st, through Roadshow); plus musical comedy from Tim Minchin - the track 'If You Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out (Take My Wife) from the new album So Rock available now through Middle Eight Music; plus stand-up comedy from dry story-teller Darren Casey; plus stand-up comedy from story-teller Jody Ekert, who also co-hosted the episode. Listent to it now. But only if you want to. www.radiohaha.com.au and also - because they've been so kind - www.timminchin.com www.tgyh.com.au www.jodyekert.com

Last week was a really busy week but Episode 48 went up as normal on Friday, I just didn't get around to pimping it here. It contains Mick Molloy talking about BoyTown which, for the record, is an hilarious film, although one whose plot turns leave you feeling cold. The gags are great. The structure is flawed. But Mick's a cack to chat to nonetheless. The episode also contained comedy from James Smith, Clint Paddison and John Knowles, with John co-hosting; we discussed Theatresports (following on, in a way, from the previous week's interview with Tom Gleisner, about Thank God You're Here, the complete first season of which is available from November 1st on DVD), which is enjoying semi-finals and then a final here in Sydney over the ensuing weeks; I get to be a guest judge on November 5th. Yay me. As it happened, I also interviewed Charlie Briggs, but that's a whole other story. You can access Episode 48 directly here: http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ohahaep048.mp3 (and the Tom Gleisner episode, here: http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ohahaep047.mp3) Or go to www.radiohaha.com.au and listen online. Stay tuned for the whole other story about Charlie Briggs…

In the lead-up to last week's episode, some talented 'up-and-coming' comics approached me to ask my advice about how to go about registering their respective shows for the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and apart from recommending they check out an appropriate part of the Comedy Festival website - http://www.comedyfestival.com.au/participation/2007/ - there wasn't much that I could tell them. However, Charlie Briggs, the Artiste and Programme Co-ordinator of the 2007 Festival, made herself available for interview, to answer a lot of the basic questions for anyone who may be considering registering a show in the Festival. The interview was too long to just bung into a pretty full episode anyway; and I didn't want to leave anything obvious out – although Charlie offers to answer further questions if you have them (contact details are in the episode, and I figure you should listen to the episode first to see if that answers some of your questions). So it became a stand-alone bonus episode - Episode 48-and-a-half. If you're genuinely interested in putting on a show, or enough of a comedy nerd to be interested in what putting on a show entails, please listen: http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ahaep048_2.mp3 or www.radiohaha.com.au

| MOSH Regular | Sorry to be banging on about my show, but I've just noticed the last 11-odd episodes have gone missing from the website; this isn't such an issue for the last couple, since I've included their entire address to aid downloading; if you're after any episodes from 38 to 46, just follow the formula as follows - http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ohahaep048.mp3 (or click on it, if it's not appearing in full) - and change the number that comes before the .mp3 when it appears (or you type or paste it) it into your browser. Sorry to be so boring. Dom | ||

The Smokin' Episode - featuring smokin' material from:
There were two other choice bits I so wanted to include. One of them was a smoking ad send-up, from The Ronnie Johns Half Hour, but it was a bit difficult to inform the copyright owners of the show, convince them of its worth and clear copyright on really short notice. My defence: I only learnt of the existence of the bit on very short notice (a podcast of Ronnie Johns, to be precise). The other bit was a bit unfortunate, because it's a very good bit indeed, but a bit of that bit might turn up in a future episode with a little luck. Enjoy. http://podcasts.freedigitalcontent.c...ohahaep049.mp3 at www.radiohaha.com.au Last edited by Dom Romeo; 05-11-2006 at 12:10 AM. Reason: I calmed down.
