It's hilaaaaaarious. ![]() (And no, my opinion was not at all influenced by Carrie's boobies.) I'm thinking Petespace isn't going to last many more shows though. I really didn't think it was going to be an ongoing segment.

Hey guys, Can someone tell me what happened after the first ten minutes of Rove last night please? (ie after they came back from their first ad break) Cause I taped it for the right time but I only got the first ten minutes and a full hour of the biggest loser which I didn't want. Thanks. Is it me but is every segment very short, yet the show runs overtime all the time!! Are there more ads on than before? I saw Danny bhoy last week and his stand up, more than half of it was new material, that guy is talented!! did Carrie REALLY need to come to work, having a wedding engagement? Are your right LANEY, her boobs were the standout!!

One thing that annoys me about this year's format is the way that they have made Carrie become a "real person" after her segment & have her join the chat on the couch. It was much more effective when she was only a sarcastic, one dimensional newsreader. When she chats as her real self, it shows you how much the material written for her defined her role on the show.

Rove/Rove's producers have been branded racist by... *shudders and types it anyway*... Xzibit. Rove's race row. Basically he was meant to be on the show Sunday night with Michael Buble but backed out at the last minute because he didn't want his song "butchered" or something. The producers tried to work with him but eventually he left because he was only going to be given 42 seconds (allegedly) and they made comments he interpreted as racist but which were clearly more a comment on him being a dumb as fuck rapper. That a lot of dumb as fuck rappers happen to be black doesn't make it racist. :P Such a shame Rove's not on again until Sunday because it would have been funny if it was on tonight.

| XZibit's MySpace. The daily blog where he calls Rove a racist seems to have been deleted. Michael Buble has spoken out in defence of Rove and XZibit has said on his blog that the never meant that Rove himself was racist (and indeed never even met him) but that the show 'Rove' was racist. It reminds me a little of this. "They disagree with me therefore they must be a racist/homophobe/whatever!" Last edited by Gutter Monkey; 28-06-2007 at 11:17 AM. | ||

I kept a copy of what Xzibit wrote in the entry that disappeared when I posted about it on my blog: Quote:

After you hear the code, the conversation in your head goes... "Your type of music? What did they mean by that? Oh, I get it. They mean black music or probably more to the point, n*gger music." (Please forgive the N-word. I don't use it normally. However, I am trying to make a point here.) I am sure that the Rove people simply meant RAP music, and they meant nothing racist by it. However, after years of conditioning when you hear comments like that, you automatically think they are talking in racist code. It is a sad state of affairs, but racism is alive and well in the US. This is all speculation, and I don't know the rapper in question personally. It just seems there was a misunderstanding. Rove was trying to widen what his audience would accept, and it was taken as a token, racist thing. I am glad that the post was removed.
