Your top 5 favorite comedians?

Hi all,

I'm always interested in finding new comedians that I've never heard of. Here's my list in no particular order:

1. Bill Cosby
2. Katt Williams
3. Brian Regan

Okay...

1.Paul McDermott
2. Andrew Hansen from the Chasers
3. Adam Hills
4. Rove McManus
5.Monty Python

Amities,

SS

Note: These guys tend to change depending on how I feel about them at particular moments mainly because they've done something I don't like. But Paul always manages to stay at the top. I'd put DAAS in here too as well as GUD but Paul covers both in a way for me.

yikes. 5 comics. thats tricky.

1. stewart lee
2. daniel kitson
3. david baddiel (he can also be cringeworthy, but when performing at his best, i love him)
4. david cross
5. ...

I'll throw DAAS in for good measure. not because its Mosh but I want to acknowledge that they were what really got me into comedy in the first place. From them I realised that comedy could be cerebral and a real fine art, so its shaped my current comedy tastes I guess. DAAS and The Big Gig defined my early high school years, and then later Red Dwarf, Sean Hughes, Young Ones...

1. Weird Al Yankovic
2. Doug Anthony All Stars
3. Jon Stewart
4. Tripod

Adam Hills
Ross Noble
Courteney Hocking
Ed Byrne
Tripod (yeah, their last show wasn't the best, but their old stuff still makes me laugh)

also, not a single comedian but a bunch - the lasses and lads from the Jim Henson Company..."Puppet Up" made me positively hurt from laughter. they need to bring out a dvd that i can then obsess over.

"Deep down you want to get a gun and fucking shoot everyone, but you can't, right?" - Matthew Bellamy, NME Magazine.

"On the other hand, if you add 'le' to a word, it does make it classy...like 'lesbian', the classiest women of them all!" - Captain Hero, Drawn Together.

Less a matter of obligation and more that this was originally a fan board for one of Paul's shows, so a lot of the old guard here joined because they were Paul fans.
