"The Mansion" - Michael Chamberlain and Charlie Pickering's TV show

Caught a couple of ads today for a new show coming in April called "The Mansion".

Michael Chamberlain and Charlie Pickering seem to be the stars of the show and from the contents of the ad it sounds like they'll be discussing current events and cracking jokes about them?

Has anyone heard anything else about this?

[Edit]
The show will air on The Comedy Channel on Foxtel. Forgot to mention that before.

I've caught a few ads on comedychannel. From the "slogans" they're suggesting for it, I think it may bear some resemblance to Boiling Point at times. Which suggests to me that it's well worth checking out.

I'm going to be interstate and sans cable at the time, but I'll be setting recording so I can watch it when I get home *g*

Is this show going to be on free-to-air or cable?

Charlie's site has a tiny blurb about it:
Quote:
2008 brings with it a new TV show, with Charlie, and fellow comedian Michael Chamberlin, creating The Mansion, a fictional news show for The Comedy Channel premiering in April.
Fictional news? Two ways to read that - they're going to invent news or they're going to be Fake News like The Daily Show or Newstopia?

Mansion

Did anyone watch The Mansion last night? It was by no means brilliant, but I think it could turn into quite a funny little show with a few epsiodes under it's belt. I though Justin Kennedy's underage internet dating segment was excellent and will upset no end of people, as I'm sure it was designed to do.

Definitely worth a watch next week.

I forgot to check when it aired, oops.
It's on again tomorrow night (Saturday), 11.30pm. Plus a couple times on Sunday.

I saw most of it, and it certainly has potential. The style of jokes remind me of the Daily Show, although obviously the setting is rather different.

I remembered to watch last night and I found it fairly amusing. Not really laugh out loud funny, but I'll be watching it again as long as it keeps being repeated at a time I can watch it!
One thing that did bug me was the laugh track/studio audience. There were times when the laughs started before the joke. And I don't mean some people saw the joke coming early, there was no sign of a joke being imminent but some people start laughing anyway. Not sure what the deal was there, maybe they just had a hyper audience.

It's kind of sad when their bit on the perils of the intarwebs was clearly better researched than Today Tonight or A Current Affair's bits ever are.

Had a bit more of a Colbert Report vibe to me. Maybe a mashup between the two shows.
It'll be interesting to see how it develops. Hopefully it will get better as they get into the groove of things.

there's a few clips here. The internet grooming one is great - I think Justin Kennedy is the star of the show.

The Mansion Audience

Hey!

I'm working on The Mansion and we're looking for people to come along and be in the audience. I'll put the details below for you. We still have lots of episodes to shoot and the more people we can fit in the audience the better.

We’re recording The Mansion every Wednesday afternoon and require the audience from 1.45-5pm at our studios located in Southbank (Melbourne).

To be in the audience you just send an email with the date that you would like to attend and how many people are coming to audience@themansion.com.au

Drinks and snacks are provided to the audience during the shoot and please note that all audience members must be over 18 years of age.

I hope some of you can come!

Free entertainment & they feed you. That sounds like a great deal, it's ashamed it's filmed in Melbourne.
