It was here on Tuesday. I was a narky because the line up wasn't as good as past years, bu they ended up adding Tommy Dean and all in all it was actually a really good night.

MC- Denise Scott- She was heaps of fun, got some fantastic material out of the "Jesus Healing Tent" that had invaded our big park thing. She was really funny and chatted to the audience alot. It was the night of the Big Brother Intruders Special so she was giving us updates each time she came on stage. It was funny one bit she came out and went "Wow Turkan has cracked the shits!!" ok well you had to be there.

1st Act - Damian Callinan as Troy. He was quite funny, I'm not really into the whole 'footy guy' character that much but he still had some really funny bits and some great "local" references in some jokes.

2nd Act- Tommy Dean. He was SOOOO funny. Alot of kinda stuff about the differences in things when he came to Australia and how everyone treated him etc. Some VERY funny stuff from an awsomely talented guy.

3rd Act-Terri Psaikis. Had some funny bits though probably not the best that I've seen her do (not that I have seen much of her, just TV and radio and that kinda stuff). Though she is such a good speaker that even bits where I was laughing I was still quite contented to sit back and listen.

4th Act- Greer Barnes. I hadn't really seen much of him so I wasn't really that sure what to expect but this man FUCKING ROCKS. He was so funny. It's weird he did quite alot of kinda, dirty(?) type stuff that I'm not usually into and I'm usually like "Pfftt american comedians" but some how he pull it off and we were all just in fits of laughter the whole time. He is also really amazing at doing impressions of famous people and sound effects and stuff. When he was doing his funky "theme" music for if he was Batman, it was very cool. I am defianatly going to have to keep a bit of an eye out for this guy!!

Hhhhmmmmm well I gues that's all. A surprisingly good night, and sadly it is all over for another year.

we... as in bendigo... got the other one....

mc tom gleeson and mickey d, rachel berger, tony woods and tripod...

i got a really good seat too, suprisingly, seeing how late i left getting tix.... about 10 m from the stage... perfect view....

tripod were definitely the highlight.... they did cowboy song, ghost ship, love song and sweet caroline...

but it was a good night... a guy even got tripod to sign his chest!!!... WEIRDO!!.... hey, they said they'd sign anything!!... so he took advantage of it!!

I went to a regional Victoria one, too, but instead of Rachel Berger we had a New Zealand chickie, but I can't remember her name - Kelly, I think... I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names.

It was my second roadshow, I went to one the first year that they had them, and I have to say, I would've been quite disappointed, had I actually paid for my tickets (wooh! Free tickets - I love incompetent box office staff! ).

Anyway, it might have just been that I was really tired, but no one really grabbed me and made me laugh myself silly. Tom Gleeson was really good, as was the NZ girl, but I thought the lineup just lacked a little spark. Tripod were excellent, as usual, but I'd seen all the material before, several times, so it wasn't quite magical (nothing against Tripod, of course, I think I've just OT'd (over-Tripoded) over the past few months! ).

So, yeah, as compared to actually going to Melbourne for the festival, it was pretty watered down and not quite the night of hysterics that I was expecting. *shrugs*

highlight? tripod? nah, sorry. they were good, as usual, but they did ALL old material. i was hopeing to see some of thier new stuff since i missed lady robots, but hopefully they will come to bendigo with thier full new show.
mickey d and tony woods were by FAR my highlights. i have seen that act from mickey 3 times now (once in justin hamiltons show, once at stagetime and once at road show) and was in tears with laughter. he is awesome.
i am now regretting not seeing tony woods at com fest. we was wicked. saw him at the gala but it was so late by the time he came on and he went for like 35 minutes i wasn't paying much attention. but seeing him at the road show, i now fucking love him.
sorry to say that rachel berger was completly shithouse. i have never REALLY liked her but seeing the road show has made me despise her. she just wanted to get up on her little soap box and give her opinion about whats happening in the political world. half the stuff wasn't even jokes, it was just her whinging about john howard. she needs to step down off her little soapbox and go back to basics (ie. big gig).
tom gleeson was awesome too. always liked him.
anyway, they are my thoughts on the bendigo road show. overall good night.

dee cee.

I went to the roadshow in frankston and loved.. most of it..
with the exception of Ethel Chopp - who i just have always hated as a general rule.
Tom Gleeson was an excellent MC - even though I'd seen all the material before, at least 3 times - the improv bits were hilarious..
*Anthony Menchetti - awww.. such a cutie. Did his little songs and was hilarious, as I thought he would be, loved it all..
*Tony Woods - was really, really funny - but went on a bit too long I thought - even if he was funny for the majority of the time..
*a local girl - whose name I cannot remember - but she was a finalist in raw comedy - came off as a bit too judith lucy... I dunno.. it was something about the way she spoke..
*Ethel Chop - bleh.. I hate her..
*TrIpOd- were excellent, of course,
They did Cowboy, Ugly men, (the bit where Gatesy hits on a girl in the audience then asks her if she'll get with scod..), Cuckold, 'I was born', and Sweet Caroline.
they were the big hit with me, of course, and with all the people I went with - who left saying "Gee.. they've got good voices, they should sing proper songs" as I laughed to myself..
I swear there must have been someone else but I can't remember..
It was an excellent night, very funkay, and so glad it was local for once.

If you're talking about Mia Timpano (and my guess is yes since you said she was a finalist at Raw), VAx and I thought [i:post_uid0]exactly[/i:post_uid0] the same thing. Her voice...man, she sounded almost identical to Judith Lucy. She definitely wasn't one of my favourites at Raw.
