Mark Loves Sharon?

The Wedge is getting a spin-off of sorts, to be called "Mark Loves Sharon", which is what those stupid cryptic ads on Channel 10 are about, if you were wondering.

From the Wikipedia entry:
Quote:
Controversial sport star Mark Warey invites the cameras into his home to shoot a celebrity reality series about the private side of a public sporting icon. Mark and his long-suffering manager Jerry, decide to allow an observational documentary crew to follow Mark in an attempt to show a sensitive, caring side of the bad-boy celebrity but they reveal a lot more than ever intended.

Mark shares his extravagant mansion with gorgeous but feisty girlfriend, Sharon, who tries to keep his wandering eye in check. His entourage are the loyal, no-hopers, Sledge and Tomo, who are enjoying the celebrity lifestyle of their celebrity mate. Jerry, the nervous wreck Manager tries valiantly to keep them all from running off the rails.
Great spin off idea? Or greatest spin off idea?

This sounds stupid. And it's a spinoff of the Wedge...that's bound to be stupid.

Not to mention, it's pushed Big Brother's Big Mouth back an hour... (yes, i watch that, sorry)

I thought the Mark Warey things were the only watchable part of The Wedge.
Well, until Cal Wilson started that Pit Girls thing.

Apparently Big Mouth's ratings haven't been great so it would probably have had to go later anyway. Think 10.30 is really a better slot for it anyway. Anyone still awake and watching TV at that time of night is probably hoping for some boobs anyway!

Well guess who the surprise guests are on this week's GNW?

I was at the taping, but I haven't actually seen any of the ads on the tele. When they brought the Mark guy and his manager on, i think most people were a bit confused, as they didn't get a very good introduction.

I recognised the manager half way through, but the people who didn't know they were characters had no idea, and were wondering why the guy was acting like an idiot and why it so staged.

So this is a spinoff? I knew that I had seen the guy before, but I couldn't place him to save my life. Now that I realize that it is The Wedge, I know why. I don't watch the Wedge.

I can't believe they are having "Mark" on GNW. Next thing we know, they will be having Big Brother contestants on it. It already annoys the hell out of me to hear Paul plug Big Mouth. Ugh! The cross promotions suck.

I don't mind them plugging Big Mouth because they talk a lot of crap on Big Mouth, just like they talk a lot of crap on GNW.

Having Mark on GNW is pretty... yeah. I think it would have seemed less tacky and gimmicky if they'd had Jason on as himself to drop some subtle (or not so subtle) plugs. It's commercial TV and they've got to do the plug thing, I know, but in character? Hmm.

The massive glut of "Deception" fragrance ads is growing increasingly annoying, too. I'm still prepared to give it a chance since it's between two shows I watch anyway... But damn, it's being pushed really hard.
