Tickets went on sale for the AFI Awards last week... slightly expensive I think

Gold – Ceremony, VIP Seating & After Party
AFI members $245.00
Non–members $275.00

Silver – Ceremony & After Party
AFI members $160.00
Non–members $185.00

Bronze – Ceremony Only
AFI members $95.00
Non–members $115.00

still, if anyone is interested, I think the tickets are on sale from ticketek...

can we comment on it now??

if u don't want to read my comments, don't scroll down

not overly suprised scree didn't get it. i've heard birthday boy is awesome.

im glad marking time cleaned up the television awards. a) cause kath and kim didn't win it and b) it was a fantastic mini-series

kath and kim winnng best costume design is a bit of a joke, but then so's th whole show

double the fist winning best comedy is a bit of a suprise. i would have though CNNNN would have stood a good chance

Drunk Midget to even Drunker Chick - Have you ever had anyone go up on you before?

Son: Is there anything we can do to get Buffy back?
Mom: Well, we could join together in prayer.
Son: Uh huh. Is there anything useful we can do?
Mom: No.

Again with the DONT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE WINNERS!!

Man, didn't Somersault clean up!! I thought it was good, not the best movie I have ever seen but still...
Yeah birthday boy is soooo cool!! By far the best short animation!
Lennie Cahill Shoots Through is actually a pretty good short (i didn't think 55 odd minutes was all that short but anyway) film, but a very obvious choice. The scree was heaps better, very clever and filmed beautifully (plus so much detailed work... just unreal)! But it probably was a little too 'different' for some of the people voting... still it's a shame it didn't win!
Marking time was great, am glad it got the recognition!

Sorry if this is posted in another thread, I did a search and this was all that came up! But, is there any way of seeing the Scree? I know there have been screenings in various places but I'm in Tassie and I'm pretty sure there hasn't been anything down here. Merely for curiosities sake.

I wrote to SBS ages and ages ago about it ('cause I'm a massive geek) but they never replied. Stupid pooeys.

Didn't someone else do that as well and get the reply that 'Australia is just not ready for it yet'?

McDermott said that on Rove [live] radio just after the Berlin Film Festival... is that what you're thinking of?

Red face

No......I think someone on another board wrote a letter to SBS....or maybe even Richard Fidler - 'cause of his ABC links - and that was the reply they were sent in the mail. I could be wrong though.

Hmmm... it just seems a bit of a weird response since it has actually been screened here - just not very many times.
