And yeah I reckon sad but true, the BB 'people' (yes they really are people!) would probably be on GNW unless Ted or someone threw a hissy fit.

Given the fact that GNW is involved with the production of BB there is probably a good chance that it would have featured BB people on the show Good News Week.

To digress a little, Blair seems to have found a real groove in Neighbours.  Does anybody else think that the guy on the Snack Stop commercials looks like Blair?

I remember seeing that, but i dont remember if they advertised it or not? If they did, the would have had him on to get more viewers, 'cos thered be alot of people out there that'd watch, especially if they loved the x-files, or whatever... another reason... well, just 'cos they could? No idea in other words! I just felt like posting

With the other q, why they had those other people, the ex-premier of Victoria would've been on because GNW always tried to get polititians (and i get the feeling i spelt that wrong somehow) on the show, and hes a politian, so yea, and I have no idea who Chloe Maxwell is so I can't have a go at the part of the question :p

Im bored... has anyone else noticed that?

I think they did mention on the ads that Mitch was going to be on .. but from memory they referred to him as "Skinner from The X-Files".  It was obviously just a publicity thing, but I still would have liked to see him on one of the teams, would have been funny

Fred: Would you have loved me?
Wesley: I've loved you ... since I've known you ...

the kennett mongrel (sorry still bitter victorian) was on becasue he was part of fashion week, yeah the son of a politician is a model. And channel 10 was promoting fashion week so put two and two together and see how many you come up with. Chloe maxwell was on for the same reason but after a while i think she sort of became the new kate fisher, kinda dumb and a soft target

As Barry said, I'd imagine Chloe was on at least in part to serve as eye-candy. She wouldn't be the first guest who only got there for that, and if the show was still going, she wouldn't be the last!
She was a better guest than some of the other people they had on at times... Even if she was a little bit silly. At least with Kate Fischer it was (mostly) an act.

Skinner from the X-Files could've been a Ch10 request... Or possibly someone at GNW is a big X-Files fan and went looking for an excuse to get an X-Files related person on the show.

Fashion Week boy was on for cross-promotion, as well as a convenient tie-in/target for model related gags. Model jokes will never die!

don't pretend you guys don't like big brother by saying "would channel ten 'stoop' to their level..." bla bla bla. there has been conversations on this board about the happenings on big brother saying "oh, i can't beleive such and such were evicted!!!" i'm not hiding the fact that i enjoy watching it. it's a friggen pisser.
and yes, i think GNW would have had some people from BB on the show. someone like alex for instance, who is extremely funny, would go down well i imagine.
stop pretending.

Stop generalising.
[i:post_uid0]Some[/i:post_uid0] people here talk about Big Brother. Not [i:post_uid0]everyone[/i:post_uid0].
And not everyone that does watch it denies that it's low-brow, catering to the masses, trashy television. Trashy is not the same as not interesting to watch. Nor does watching it mean we'd want the trash on GNW. People [i:post_uid0]can[/i:post_uid0] like both, without wanting the two to intermingle...

couldn't agree more mythor

i watch it, i don't hide it i also know that NO it is not a deep and meaningful show to help us understand the way society works in such and such a situation..it's complete trash but i am absolutely hooked.  And most people cna't beelive it because basically i really do/did detest television...
anyway that's off the topic..

i dooo think they'd at least have someone from BB on at some stage..most likely gretal because she's been on the show before and she did a damn fine job..

and another aside

what the hell has happened to her hair this year!!??

it's used to be dead straight and jet black and gorgeous..now..bleurgh...

hey all,
i think that people who were on good news week had quite a bit of intelligence, whereas the people on BB are just not those sort of people... i amn not saying that the BB people are dumb (i mean like i watch the show and everything!!) but i just think yeah, i guess i think that if were to have anyone on the show it would be Gretel or someone funny like Nathan or Alex but not someone like Aaron or Damo who i think pretty dumb.
but what the hell has happened to her hair, although in a way it makes her face sorta look abit more soft if anyone can understand what i am saying and i really don't like that curly/wavy thing she has got happening there

I really don't want to get into a big ramble about Big Brother I could go on forever. What I do think however is that GNW probably would not have had people from BB on. Mainly for the reason that GNW was a current news events game show and these people have been stuck in a house for a couple of months. It would just put them at a disadvantage and plus BB celebreties arn't exactly the brightest sparks. GNW is also aimed at people who want an intelligent/comic look at the news so they would (normally) have people that could further that aim.

that's true......but do you realise how many deadbeats there were on the show??  ya know, those people who need to be personally asked the quesion before they would contribute..so the BB house mates might not have been better than a lot of those sorts of guests

Yes but I think Big Brother demeans the human intelligence. I mean we are capable of creating such magnificent drama's and comedies and what do we do? We stick 12 deadbeat yobbo's into the house and watch them eagerly as they get drunk fondle one another. It is not real reality TV they are being portrayed a certain way to the public. It's just a big scam designed to suck millions of viewers in. And this time it isn't working as much. Why are they having so many specials all of a sudden. They are loosing viewers that's why.

Umm.... there was a point that was going to relate back to your post laney. However BB is a franchise GNW can't really pick one of the housemates to come on and not have the rest.
