Technicolor Ferguson flags new group DVD The Advertiser 17/12/2004 THOSE bad boys of Australian comedy, the Doug Anthony All Stars, plan to reunite – in voice at least. Tim Ferguson, who is in Adelaide to prepare for dual roles in the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, said yesterday the former trio intended to release a DVD of its live performances. They were a staple of the comedy circuits here and in the UK during the late '80s and early '90s. "Some kind of DVD will come out, if only because we'd like to do the commentary track – and point out each other's imperfections," Ferguson said. The only stalling point was which of the three – Ferguson, Strictly Dancing host Paul McDermott or ABC comedy boss Richard Fidler – would take responsibility for the project. The group's stage costumes, which had the dubious distinction of never being cleaned because of the oil paintings on their jackets, have been donated to the Performing Arts Museum in Melbourne. "The ladies who were working on them apparently had to cover them in baby powder because they stank so badly. They'd be eating themselves alive now with the bacteria," Ferguson said. He will play both the Pharaoh and the evil Potiphar in Joseph, which will be staged at Her Majesty's Theatre, Grote St, city, from January 14-22. http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au...E31624,00.html

| MOSH Addict | Knowing the boys, I half expect this to be bullshit, but how fucking funny would a DVD commentary of Dogs, or Joan of Arc or something be?? Although I'd hope they'd include some footage we don't already have *g* | ||

| MOSHer | I predict it's a DVD of the dead and alive concert. I'd love it to be the live at the national concert though! Richard would have the production experience, he should do it! Last edited by pixieDAAS; 17-12-2004 at 04:23 PM. | ||

| MOSHer | How much would a commentary go along the lines of "You stuffed that!" "No, you did!" The subtitles would look like a Batman comic strip. "BIFF BANG SMASH" Man that would be funny. I wish they would release DAAS Kapital on DVD, cos the commentary on that would be brilliant. "Paul, why did you not actually kiss Flacco?" *shudders at that thought* On Mythor's point, I think of Ted Robinson's acceptance speech at the 2003 AFIs. "Paul, hurry up and finish your film!" | ||

Kindly asked Paul after the Mandurah Performance of GUD on the 30/6/05, and he said "because next year (2006) is the 21st anniversary of them teaming up together, they will be releasing a DVD with bits of everything on it" ie. Big Gig, DAAS Kapital etc. Straight from Monkey Boy's mouth.Hehe.

| MOSH Regular | Lets hope it's not a load of bull. I know many people (including myself) who would really love to have any 'new' DAAS stuff. Commentaries would just be chaotic. Fun, but crazy. ![]() | ||

If Paul's just spinning a story then he can rest assurred that he and the other two will get a right royal bashing from most of the people on this message board. (in words- no violence)
