I don't have copies.

In fact, I have never seen it. It was before my time and I don't have cable. I would love to see copies of them too. I don't think you can get them commerically, can you?

Is second hand the only option?

Anyone who would love to help me see the glory of the Kapital, please, PM me.

*jumps on the PM bandwagon*

All I have is the scripts book. All I've actually seen is a shoddy half episode someone had uploaded years and years back.

It gets a run on Foxtel's Comedy Channel from time to time. If you're desperate to see it, drop them an email and ask if there's any plans for a rescreening.

I have the scripts book and saw the shoddy loaded ep as well.

I was imagining the eps to be done in more of a film style, and I was surprised when the (part of the) ep had more of a play style.

I don't know. I think I saw about 10 mins of it max. Hard to judge from that.

Hi!
No we won't sorry. We no longer have that program under licence.

I have a tape of DAAS Kapital too. I'm just not entirely sure about how good the copy is which was taped off another copy someone else had. Partly cause I have trouble with the volume, the TV in my room has to be turned up really loud to hear it and the TV in the family room which has a set volume makes it sound very quiet.

So no I don't think I could record it for you.

I would happily buy a copy of it which was of a better quality if DAAS decided to release it on DVD or something.

Which reminds me, it's now July, where is the DVD they said was being released this year?

And any news on the GNW reunion special?

Myth is buying and selling "bootleg" stuff on here against the rules?

Sorry...not trying to be a bitch...... cause well I have 2 copies.... One of the original ABC versions, and one of Comedy Channel, but I just don't want Myth to get threatened with Legal action again!

Yes. (Unfortunately.)

If Comedy Channel no longer have the rights then it's likely no one has them anymore. You could try and find out who holds the original rights and ask them to allow free copying rights now that they're no longer making money from repeat rights? *shrug*

A "Collected Works of the Doug Anthony All Stars" DVD would be great, would probably make them some money and would definitely solve the quandary fans are in now.

I have long thought of putting the 50 odd video's of shite on DAAS, and GNW, etc on DVD. Pity it costs a fortune to do

Why does it cost a fortune to do this? I've been considering putting old VHS onto digital too but am not really sure how to go about it yet. Wouldn't it be possible to do by just hiring a DVD burner/VHS player from Radio Rentals or something like that?
(feel free to laugh at the idiot if this is a ridiculously simplistic and impossible answer!)

You can do it that way, but the problem is that you have to play the tape at regular speed in order to record it. So if you have 80 hours worth of tape, it's going to take 80 hours to record them to DVD.
Even assuming a relatively modest cost of $15 an hour for a professional to do it, you're still looking at $1200.

Yes, it is a shame it would cost so much for one of us to do it.

Otherwise I would think we would have done it by now.

So solution: the boys get together and do it, so then we can all buy it and they'll earn lots of money.
