Well, since The Glass House is no longer on the air and there doesn't seem to be any other GNW/DAAS related TV projects in the works and if there is, there's precious little discussion about them, I'm thinking that it might be time to drop the dedicated forum. ![]() Can anyone offer a compelling reason not to merge this forum with the more general Comedy Discussion forum? I'm certainly open to suggestions on that front... The main reason I am considering doing this is to make some room to potentially bring in some other folders. Possibly a second ComFest folder of some sort (reviews? recs? photos/videos?) or an International forum, etc. Anyway, vote early, vote often: Should the GNW/DAAS Forum be closed?

| MOSH Elite | yeah go for it. its not like ted is going to unleash several programs at once anymore. and most of the newbies post stuff straight to comedy discussion anyway cause they're too ignorant to know what a gnwtv production is ![]() | ||

| MOSH Addict | I did hear a rumour that Ted's got a new show lined up for 2007, but there's no reason why it would need it's own forum. And GnWTV still does the Gala and the debates, but they tend to wind up in the comfest section. It's not like there's any threads in here that can't fit under the title of comedy discussion. | ||

All the threads in this forum should have a "tag" appropriate to their contents now, by the way. So they shouldn't get lost in the crush, you need only search the tags listing for gnw/good news week/the glass house/doug anthony allstars/paul mcdermott to find just about all the threads in here anyway. ![]()

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 2 | I voted "no", but I don't have a good reason for it. The main reason I want it to stay open is I am too lazy to search for DAAS related material in other forums. If I want to read DAAS threads, it is there and easy to read. The other thing I thought about was the history of this board. We are called "Mosh!", which is a direct reference to Paul McDermott (for those of you who didn't know that, if any). So it makes a weird sort of sense to have a forum to be dedicated to, at the very least, Paul. A DAAS forum is more diplomatic. Are those good reasons?

As for hanging onto the history, perhaps a thread/page explaining the name and where it comes from, and a bit of the history of Paul and the board would be more useful than having a dead quiet forum about all the things he's not doing publically lately? Also, a forum about him could possibly give people the misleading impression that it was a place for discussion about his private life as well as his public performances, which is against the board rules.

As I said, they've all been tagged now so if you wanted to find all the DAAS threads, for example, you could just check the DAAS tag. All the posts would be out in genpop, but they're not going to be closed to comments or invisible or anything. As for the other, yes, that's the only reason it wasn't closed a long time ago. There's only two threads that have even been active, other than this one, for ages in this folder anyway, so it seems kind of silly to have an entire forum for it. Except that that is from whence the board came. Sentimentality is all well and good, but forums that don't get used much or at all probably don't really need to have a dedicated section anymore... ![]() [Edit] Alisso beat me and said much the same as what I did. I could create a FAQ entry detailing some of the history of the forum though I suppose? Last edited by Mythor; 07-01-2007 at 09:59 AM. Reason: beaten to the punch

It's also cool to note (when you tune in) that he plays his own intro music. Sydney doesn't get Afternoons with Richard, but you take what you can get.
