hoorah! I spoke to Ted, he said it was going to be a Big Gig type thing. I think he was just talking about the content though, not the audience thing. but hoorah nontheless! ![]()

"Paul is currently working on a new (currently untitled) comedy show produced by Ted Robinson. The show is of a variety show format, and the pilot is currently in production (expected to screen around April on the ABC)" This was taken from Paul's page on Wikipedia. Is it too much to ask, is it too much to hope, that Paul's hosting??? Did anyone go to the filming last week? Please tell us what happened? Or has Ted sworn you to secrecy??

| MOSH Addict | There was a filming? Bloody hell, am I out of the loop or what... Spoke to the folks at GNWTV. Didn't ask about cast details, but the remaining pilot taping is fully booked. Tickets are available for the first episode (presuming they get picked up) to be filmed on April 19th. 6.30pm-9pm (roughly) at ABC Studios, Ultimo (Sydney *g*). For tickets call the lovely office staff on (02) 93834741. I'm not going cause I'm going to be in Melbourne *g* But if they do continue, it'll be taped weekly from then on, and I'm sure I'll get to a few here and there *g* Last edited by Alisso; 16-03-2007 at 04:20 PM. | ||

| MOSH Addict | *does a little dance* Tim'n'Eddie! And if Sam Bowring's involved, I won't be surprised to see a lot of other Sydney comics getting spots. Not fussed on the standing audience concept though. Done that once and my feet hurt before it was half over. And I know how long a taping can run when things go wrong. But I do like the idea of a variety show with stand up and musical comedy and bands and stuff. A new Big Gig would be fantastic to see on tv. It's not an easy format to maintain for any length of time, but it can do wonders for promoting comedians who aren't receiving the sort of recognition they deserve. I wonder who'll host? Or if there'll even be a host? Curious about the suggestion that Paul is joining the team of writers, too. If it's a show featuring comedians and bands and stuff, there's not a huge amount that would need to be scripted by the production team, most of it would be material the performers have developed. | ||
