My 3 year old son loved it, and yes, he understood some of it. Whenever the Umbies come on, both kids call out, "THE UPSIDE DOWN SHOW!" The Threatening Bears were a big hit with them as well. They giggled the entire time they are on. He loved any bit that had puppets or weird sound effects.

I know that my 6 year old daughter loved the Circus stuff, and she told me that one of the circus ladies was beautiful (can't remember which one). The singing at the end was also a hit. When the Theme was on, my kids would dance around. During the week, we sometimes have sing-a-longs with the Theme... sometimes started by me; sometimes by them.

Most of the comedy bits didn't interest them at all. Stand-up performers were walked away from. Things like the Fondue girls were pronounced silly and not in the good way. Tripod and Claire were not a hit.

It's nice to know some children were watching it. Sounds like they had fun.
It's pretty much what I think I would've enjoyed if I was a child watching it.
I can pretty much picture the fun you must have with the singalongs. Kids can be so cute at times.

When they do the invention bit and ends with "Ergo God is smart!" my cat shakes his head and says "You try licking yourself clean."

Get the Speedmouse DVD. The Threatening Bears do the menus. I refuse to divulge how much time I spent watching the interactive menus just for the damn bears.

Speedmouse DVD, eh? I love the Threatening Bears almost as much as my kids do. I will have to check that out.

The Speedmouse DVD is VERY funny...so many extras, there are extra extras. One of the few menus I've seen that's as entertaining to watch as some of the other items on the disc. Can't wait to see what they come up with for the THWAK DVD.

haha i love the extra stuff on the dvd! I love when you go to the chapter stuff, and you just let each page blank and then they start talking, the 2nd page is the most hilarious!

Apparently writers of The Sideshow don't get correct info about their own show either. Warwick Holt and Mat Blackwell have an update for us:
"(UPDATE 9/7/07: It now looks like the 9:30 timeslot will in fact be for the rest of the year. Just further proof that you shouldn’t trust anything you read here…)"

so there ya go.

I was looking around the ABC site, and I came across this...the announcement that The Sideshow will be back 18th August at 9.25pm - make sure you don't miss the first 5 minutes (by coming in at 9.30pm). Also on this page, it has a video of Transcended.

Frank woodley is going to be on the next episode, starting on August 18. I hate how its going to be on so late! I had started to get into a routine on Sat night tv viewing, 6.30pm-funniest home videos and then 7.30 Sideshow...now i have to find something to do in that 2hr gap.

I saw the ad for it last night. It doesn't look any different, but the ad mentioned that it was in an "adult" time slot. So more F-words and dick jokes from Paul??

I think I will tape it and let the kids watch the clean bits, if they are interested.
