oh good. One less thing I have to set the HDD to tape and can actually be home to enjoy when it does come back on.

"Good news as comedy show hits the mark"
It's been a good news week for Good News Week - the show's season will be doubled.

A Channel 10 spokesperson said GNW's season would be extended from 10 episodes to 20 after it raised Ten's Monday night audience by 30 percent.

Hosted by Paul McDermott with team captains Mikey Robins and Claire Hooper, the show is now the No. 1 current affairs comedy show on Australian TV.

On Monday more than 970,000 viewers tuned in, with 107,000 people watching in Adelaide.

Channel 10 chief programming director David Mott said audience growth was impressive, averaging a million viewers every Monday.

Personally I think they are a little stupid airing it at the same time as Desperate Housewives..

True. Though it is an extremely popular show still. But it's still a competing show. Many who like to watch both might tape GNW and watch Housewives...

I myself tape housewives and watch GNW so I am proud to support the ratings *g*

I'm the same, I just thought it got really pointless. I gave it a couple episodes in season 2, but it didn't improve. It's the same with Lost - I just got really lost!! No pun intended!

I tape pretty much everything now anyway since having a baby so at the end of the day it doesn't really matter.

But at least it all gives me something to watch during the day, though I have not yet seen an episode of House (husband wants to watch it too but can never be bothered).

Good News Week back tomorrow night, from the Comedy Festival - did anyone go to a filming?? I have a friend who went to the first filming and said they had fun, especially when people were making fun of the crew as they cleaned up the paper - she told me that someone said - "I wonder if people will notice less paper on stage as the show goes on?" (not an exact quote, she said she didn't hear it exactly, just got the gist if it.

The first episode has Corrine Grant, Wil Anderson, Frank Woodley and Reginald D Hunter. 2 special guests also make an appearance, but my friend wouldn't even tell me who they were, she told me it will be a surprise (I'm guessing Flacco and The Sandman??).

Does anyone know who was in the second episode???

For Show 2 - Kristen Schal, Ross Noble, Eddie Ifft, Josh Thomas
and that runs from Mikey's team through to Claire's

So the Kristen Schal is a horse song from the Gala might make some sense now

Spot on with the special guests... ;-) But I don't think they'll be on the episode, rather filmed for a special. I think the second ep was better than the first. And yeah, watch for the disappearing paper & foil. They swept each commercial break! Corinne & Wil were on opposing teams, so nothing happened. After seeing Kristen on the gala, I don't want to see her show, and Paul introduced her as a horse but it made no more sense... but she's been nominated for a Barry... she was ok on GNW though. Paul sang to entertain while Buzzers of Death was set up. Ross Noble playing guitar... so funny but you'll have to wait till next week to see it lol! I'm sure most of it will be cut anyway... :-(

So Jim-Bob had friends... let me guess, Ray-Bob, Billy-Bob & Bob-Bob!! - Cheyenne (Renegade)

I was at both tapings, & had a ball.

Anyone who was at the first one, if you remember Paul threatened to break one person's camera if they took one more photo, & then went on a muttering rant when someone else took a photo of him after that; I was the second person!
I switched off my flash after that!

So, what's the story with Wil & Corrine? Did they have a falling out?

Feel the love.
dolfyn.

Paul (in GUD): "So, any requests?"
Me: "Volkswagon!"
(Audience laughs)
Paul (grins at me then pretends to be annoyed): "Yes, alright."

i was at both too agree 2nd show was better - i think due to larger audience, ross and eddie, and paul giving caring less by then.

and yes, the slowly vanishing paper and glitter should be interesting...as with ross's mic

Think that was the funniest thing she said all night!!!

Is it just me, or does Mikey just looked pissed off most of the time? He no longer seems to be at the centre of the best jokes, and every time they flash to him, he looks annoyed.

Oh and nice long shot of McWilko there sure she appreciated that!!
