I'm with you there about Mikey - I was at the taping, and he didn't seem overly happy to be there and made a few snide comments that grated a bit. I went with my mum and even she commented that he didn't seem his old self.

Hello stranger!!

I've noticed it a few weeks in a row now, but last night seemed to be worse than normal. Wish he would snap out of it, cause often the best bits are him and Paul working off each other.

He must have had a bad day, because I listen to him every morning on Vega, and he seems fine. He even joked about this 'friend', who he wouldn't name, then did - I'm sure you can guess who, about how much of a tight-arse he is, especially when it comes to buying a 'round'. He joked that when they filmed at the Town Hall in Melbourne (I think he said) someone told him that his jacket and Paul's wallet had been stolen, and his comeback to that was - "Paul has a wallet???"

I was very sad that Kristen Schaal didn't say more. Maybe she said more on the night but she was very quiet I thought.
Has nobody learnt not to jump on the desks yet?

Can anyone who was there explain why they didn't use the Darwin Awards this time for Buzzers of Death? Did they get told to stop ripping off other's material again?

The GNW website has videos of Paul singing Transcended, The Sandman and Flacco's parts, not shown on the show.

I will have to go and watch most of it again on the website... I was unwell and fell asleep on the couch *sigh*

I thought Ross was hilarious...that Message in a Bottle he did was great....he was just on fire....

Paul was good as always...(though I think the version of Trancended on the website extras could have been better...I love that song and Paul does it well but I just think he didn't quite get there...pity really)

I liked the surprise blast from behind Paul in Buzzers of Death..I think the wires are bigger than the previous years...

When he sang that at the end of the show, at the start of Strange but True, it took SO LONG TO FILM! The audience started clapping along, but everyone was out of time with each other, and with Ross, and he complained because it screwed him up because he'd only learnt the song that day *G*

So they kept retrying it. But it's almost impossible to get an entire audience to clap in time with each other, and the music. They were trying to explain which beat we should be clapping on, and then half the audience were doing a slow, 2, 4 clap, and half of them were clapping 1,2,3,4 which made Ross try to speed up so that it fit the music as 2,4, and it all went to hell from there *G*

I agree, I loooooove that song, but I thought it was a better version on The Sideshow. I was distracted by his left hand during the song and the Flacco/Cameron solo in the middle seemed a little weird. But, it was still nice to hear.

Am I alone in thinking that Claire is getting better each week. She's still no Julie (I thought they said Julie was going to make appearances..please Julie...), but I'm hating her less....she's growing on me.

She was a little quiet on Monday again but she did have some fairly funny bits. Overall I think she's getting better, but maybe they need to put some of the more talkative folks over on Mikey's side. Wil almost took over the team when he was on Claire's side, so Claire ended up getting pushed aside for his chatter.

But overall I'm enjoying the show being back and back basically to what it used to be - mostly funny shit about the news of the week. Not singing and dancing and awkward celebrity plugfests every week.

Where do they film GNW these days? Surely they don't still tape in Gore Hill do they, it's been such a long time since I've been there.

What days do they film too? My sister is coming home for a few days and i thought it'd be fun to go to a taping, for old times' sake.

They're filming at the ABC studios in Ultimo, same place as Glass House, Sideshow and various others. It's recorded on Saturdays at 5.30.

The next taping is on May 3rd, and may or may not still have tickets available *g* They're tending towards double tapings once every two weeks.

But if you're after a particular weekend, give them a call in advance and they'll help you out if they can. All the folks who answer the phones are lovely people *g*

Thanks for the info Alisso! I'm out of the studio audience loop these days. ha. That's strange they film at the ABC studios since it's a Channel 10 production. I'll probably call them up tomorrow and find out about tickets then. I think my friend said he went to a double episode but left after the first episode taping cause it was too long.
