I think last night's was great too.

Everyone did well. Even Tony who I'd never heard of before.

Couldn't agree with you more, she's not funny. Same with Akmal...surely they put them both on the 1 episode to get them both out of the way. But I'm guessing by Paul's intro of Akmal, that maybe it's not his idea to get him on...also, I love Tom Gleeson, but Tom, you don't have to look down the camera everytime you speak, you can speak to the people on set, especially if you are speaking to the people on set!!! Otherwise, I love you Tommy!!

Re: Good News Week 2009

Am watching it now. Opening monologue was one of the funniest ones in a while.
Don't mind Gretel usually, she's uninspiring so far but I've only gotten through the first segment.
I could've been through the second by now but Akmal + Eddie Perfect = I'm not sure I can be fucked continuing!

Re: Good News Week 2009

Definitely think the quality of the guests has lifted in the last few weeks. Hillsy last week and Eddie this week. Keeps the emphasis off the two team captains - which is how it should be.

But not a real green dress - that's cruel

Awww, I thought they were both great! Loved seeing Eddie Perfect back on the tellie too after such a long time. And Akmal was the same as usual - he just keeps talking and every now and then he'll get in some funny jokes.

Really not sure why they got Gretel on the show either. Not funny at all, and very painful to watch. Grrrrr.

I find it interesting that the DVD was being plugged despite it being released over six months ago.

Poor Richard. The DVD commentary reveals that he is full of knowledge... or at least has the best memory of the three.

Re: Good News Week 2009

Considering the DVD was supposedly sold out it's interesting they need to plug it, yes.
Maybe they're hoping to convince someone to let them put out another?

I would like to hope so. Especially as Tim says on the commentary that the Allstars bits from the other series of the Big Gig would be out soon.
