| Drunk Midget to even Drunker Chick - Have you ever had anyone go up on you before? Son: Is there anything we can do to get Buffy back? Mom: Well, we could join together in prayer. Son: Uh huh. Is there anything useful we can do? Mom: No. - Overheard In New York | |||

| mrs_doobie these days | I think Conchords are much funnier when it's just them and guitars, the TV show seems a bit... umm... overdone? | ||

| MOSHer | I've had the whole series at home for a while now, and I have only managed to watch the first 2 episodes because i find it incredibly painful to watch. Mind you, i do think that's because i CANNOT stand new zealand accents. they absolutely shit me to tears. CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT STAND!. anyway, other than that, i do enjoy watching a bit of Arj on the show and also, i forget the girlfriend's name in the first episode, but i like her cause she's a reoccurring character in Peep Show and she's cool in that. i've been told the whole series is really good though and i should try to finish it... | ||

Oh, Laney, I soooo agree about the New Zealand accent. It shits me. It can also confuse me because I am from the US, but usually it just shits me. For some reason, I was able to overlook it for the show.

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 3 | first episode was the "pilot" and you can really tell - from the second episode onwards the show feels tighter, and the musical numbers and stilted visual style all work much better due to massively increased production values. that's not to say the first episode isn't good - but the show definitely ramps up as the season progresses. will be interesting to see if local audiences take to the subtlety of the show's humour, though - especially since its timeslot is being fed by rove's "audience". it's getting lots of press, though, so hopefully it finds the audience it deserves.

Reputation: ![]() ![]() ![]() Reputation Power: 3 | Having spoken to Americans and Brits about this show for a while now, I was anticipating that it wouldn't match up to my expectations when I finally watched it, but I was really surprised; I absolutely loved it. I guess I just liked the slower pace of it, and the awkwardness reminds me of all sorts of events in my life. I think the funniest line for me was the agitated way in which Jemaine pointed out that the tap wouldn't work. That had me almost in tears, it was just so simple and effective! If it's anything to go by, everyone I've talked to about this series has said to stick with it for a few episodes, because it really picks up. I'm looking forward to giggling some more.
