hahaha.. yes.. we have the plan.. rent an apartment.. even if its shitful... or stay at the hostel.. we can do it! I need a job so I can pay for everything dammit! argh!
that would be SO good.. and I know someone who knows someone who might be able to get me a fake ID so it's all good..I mean.. the source is fairly crap.. but oh well.. we'll see.

Unfortunately, when opening your own business... it has to come before comfest.

But if i go, i will stay where i was this year... on the same block as town hall... literally around the corner, was brilliant... could drink at the hi fi and just wonder across the road back to my hotel hehehe

Thanks for the info. on the hostels; they should be extremely useful for next year, even for the Melbournians. I'm really considering staying in the city a LOT during ComFest 2002, and those 4/6/8 bed dorms also sound heaps cool... oh dear, I can picture it now - a truckload of MOSHers from around the nation, all staying at the same hostel and running riot at night.

I can't believe that the 100 (well, 102 now) days that have passed since I started this thread have gone by SO... BLOODY... SLOWLY... I hope the remaining 200 don't drag by as much. :meh:

Cheers for the countdown...
I actually have created a Excel spreadsheet here at work with all my info for next years festival including a countdown.  Nice to know that mine corrolates with yours :-)

115 Days to go till Adelaide Fringe!!! hehe

On the accomodation front for Melbourne, may I also suggest trying to rent a private apartment in the city.  It is possible - comedychick and I rented a place on Flinders St just 2 blocks away from the Town Hall for 10 days and it cost &#36800.  There were three of us, which made it about &#3627 a night.  And that had a kitchen, bathroom, laundry, tv, stereo, video and a particularly nice view of the city from our rooftop... all private for our own use!  Beats the YHA on value and location.  And it proved fantastic for the festival when one needs to stumble home from the festival club at 5am!

I won't be staying there again this year though as my friend has found another place thats more to her tastes (ie. it has foxtel as well).  If you want info on the Flinders St place, just drop me a line and I'll give you the contact details.

How long did you stay at that apartment for? Our group is sort of looking at staying somewhere for only a few nights out of the week, so we're looking at the cheapest possible option. Comfort is not really an issue because we probably won't be in the actual room too much... we all have homes in the suburbs to take trains back to if we ever wanted a decent bed. :)

Thanks for the suggestion anyway. :)
