So now that it's all over, I want nominations for everyone's favourite show.  Should Ross Noble have gotten the Barry award and the Age award?  Should Michael Chamberlain have gotten the Piece of Wood Award?  What do you think?  Who was robbed?  Who was under-rated and who was over-rated?

My personal nominations are:
Equal joint winners of Shishi's best of the fest:
*drum roll*
Chris Addison & Daniel Kitson

Both amazing performers who I will see every year they come out here cos their shows were absolutely incredible!

Don't ask me nothing about nothing; I just might tell you the truth. (Bob Dylan)

I enjoyed everything i saw, especally the alcohol, but the act that suprised/impressed me the most would have to be Al Murray

Al Murray in my opion was the worst, he shat me!!

I loved everything else I saw and I think Ross and Michel both deserved what ever awards they got!! They both rocked (Michel and Charlies show was original and funny)

Those of you who read my LiveJournal have already read this, but out of the shows I saw, I tried to narrow my "Picks Of The Festival" list down to 5. It was EXTREMELY FUCKING HARD, but this is it I think (in no particular order):

* Tripod - "Lady Robots"
* The Happy Sideshow
* Ross Noble - "Slackers Playtime"
* Chris Addison - "Port Out, Starboard Home"
* Lawrence Leung - "Sucker"

As for the awards thing, I'm not sure if I'm too down with handing out awards for any form of art, whether it be movies, visual art, comedy, theatre, whatever. Art is such a subjective thing that what may be "best" to some people may be complete crap to others. In my personal opinion though, the Piece Of Wood award is a little better in the sense that it is voted by peers rather than "head honchos" in the industry (although again, the same thing applies with subjectiveness). I think Charlie & Michael deserved the POW because they are both extremely talented and have done a lot for Melbourne comedy over the years.

Nobody over-rated comes to mind at the moment, but when it comes to UNDER-rated acts, I'll tell you what - The Fake McCoys have been together since 1994 (someone correct me if I'm wrong), are extremely bloody funny, and the night I went to see them there were [u:post_uid0]15 people in the audience[/u:post_uid0]. *

my favourites were (in this order)
*charlie pickering and michael chamberlin - boiling point (never ever cried in a comedy show from laughter before)
*mickey d and lehmo are in justin hamiltons fingers (wicked, choice, mint whichever you prefer... lol)
*adam hills - happy feet (just brilliant as usual)

i like most of the other shows i saw, but those three were highlights. of course chris addison, ross noble ect ect were good, but just liked the top three the most.

as for overrated shows.. yeah i have a few
*the comedy zone (yeah i know, they are only new... but they were shit. danny mcginnlay was the best out of the lot)
*paul mcdermott - comedyoscopy (was pretty dull IN the venue, and i am sick to fucking death of his singing, but when he took the show out onto the streets it definatly improved)

there is my two cents.

For my favourites, I'd probably go....Chris Addison & Ross Noble for top [i:post_uid0]stand up[/i:post_uid0] shows; and for top just sheer lovely and funny shows, the Journals & A Night At Fat Willy's.

Interviewer: Dave Grohl said that Songs for the Deaf is the best album he's ever played on. Wasn't that guy in Nirvana?

Josh Homme: He says all the time, "I was in fuckin' Nirvana, man." And I tell him, "OK, buy me something."

Well I didn't go to much but my pick of the fest was definitely Boiling Point. My friend and I were absolutely cacking ourselves and for ages afterwards we were just giggling for apparently no reason other than we'd remembered someting fromt he show. Well done boys!

This is *really* hard, but I have to say that Boiling Point was my favourite show, too. It was the show that left the biggest impression on me, with its originality, we were giggling and doing rock eistedford moves all the way home and for the rest of the night.

Wil Anderson's show was also fantastic, as always. I think this year's show is my favourite that he's done. And I have to disagree with, dancingcornflakes, I really enjoyed both of Paul's shows. I was a little skeptical going in, but I ended up having a great time and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the shows were.

Ooooh, and one more - Cops On Heat, I really, really loved that!! Good, silly fun and I wish I could've gone to more of the interrogation shows.

Ok... this is way too hard.
I don't think i saw anything i didn't like.
Highlights would be:
Boiling point
3 Canadians (obvious if anyone saw me at comfest after i saw their show)
Gud on the 16th
Tripod on the 28th before they changed the ending
Cops on heat when they broke the athenaum
Scardies Superband on the 13th

Hightlight of World Comedy Tour would have to be Carl Baron, and the girl at the end Sue someone

People who saw the three canadians. Can you tell me whether the cutting of the lepers scene was part of the show. Because I really couldn't figure out whether they always did it or was just part of our forty minutes running late show at the fringe.

And am I the only one who got the Oedipus jokes in it? I thought they were hilarious.

The 3 canadians did cut the lepers scene in each show...

I loved...
-the 3 canadians
-Ross Noble
-Tripod

and for the most weird, wacky but not necessarily funny show, I'd say
