Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | Well, here's what I saw, in order from my most favourite to least favourite. * [b:post_uid0]Wil Anderson[/b:post_uid0] *(got to see his show a second time when my friend's friend couldn't use her ticket, and enjoyed it even more!) [b:post_uid0]Lano & Woodley[/b:post_uid0] *Brilliant, laughed so hard, and then saw Tripod afterwards, which was a great night. *Love their work, and can watch it over and over again. [b:post_uid0]Dave Gorman[/b:post_uid0] *Because this was completely different from anything I'd ever seen, and you've gotta love someone who can make a room full of people cheer a graph! * And I never thought I could get so excited about the fact that there was a Dave Gorman in the audience the night I went. [b:post_uid0]Tripod[/b:post_uid0] *I spent too much time on the night making comparisons between them and DAAS, but with hindsight, and a few listens to their CD, I'm totally hooked! [b:post_uid0]3 Canadians[/b:post_uid0] (wasn't going to go to this, except for a strong recommendation from a friend who'd seen them before, and a couple of good reviews here - thanks!) [b:post_uid0]Celebrity Theatresports[/b:post_uid0] (if only for Rove being an evil council worker, having such a great shot at singaboutit!) *But more for the fact that it was like being at a sporting event, but without having to put up with any sport! [b:post_uid0]Ross Noble[/b:post_uid0] *Very funny, talented improviser, but I think I lean more towards well-prepared sets, as you can probably see from my top choices. [b:post_uid0]Cops on Heat - Interrogation room with Wil Anderson & Adam Hills[/b:post_uid0] *Not what I'd expected, but I feel like I got to know Adam & Wil a little, which was fun! [b:post_uid0]Dave Callan[/b:post_uid0] *Very small venue - spoilt a bit by a couple of hecklers who just wouldn't give up. *Not as original as I'd hoped [b:post_uid0]Judith Lucy[/b:post_uid0] Think this show was one too many of hers for me - I've seen her 3 times in as many years.

| MOSH Addict | All right, here's my list, in the order I saw them. The Gala, Adam Hills, Great Debate, Morgs, Jenny Eclair, Wil, Greg Fleet, Funky Science, Ross Noble, The Fat, Jeff Green, Judith Lucy, Adam 101, Jimeoin, Rod Quantock, Cops on Heat Interrogation Room with Adam Spencer, Raw Comedy, Upfront 7, James O'Loghlin, Rich Hall, Lano + Woodley, Tripod, Sarah Kendall, Fresh, Cops on Heat Interrogation Room with Adam Hills and Wil Anderson, Wil again, and The Mooseheads. I don't think there was a single show that I couldn't find something to enjoy in. Stand out show of the festival for me was Cops on Heat Interrogation Room. It was recommended to me by so many different people, I decided to try to get to see it, but I didn't think I could fit in their normal show, so I went to the interrogation room once, and laughed so much I had to go again, and take a friend with me! Adam Hills was fantastic too, and so were Fleety and Morgs. Loved Jeff Green's work, and Jenny Eclair and Ross Noble were great too. ####, I loved everything I went to see! And even though the audience was small (painful to see when it's in the main hall of the town hall), the Rodtacular was something I'm unlikely to ever forget *g*. Next year, I'm going to try to squeeze more in, cause even though I went to at least one show a night, frequently two, I still missed out on seeing a lot of the acts that I would have liked to see. | ||

And often run between Town Hall and Trades, and then sprint up the road to the Vic or Ath, or leap on the first tram to the Black Box. Make good use of the shuttle bus.

Reputation: ![]() ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | Question! How the #### do you guys afford to go to so many shows? :0) Man, I saved *all* last year to go this year, and I could only afford to go to three, and I didn't have to travel too far and I got my accomodation for free! I need to revise my saving technique, methinks... and I need to find a way to get more time off uni!! :star:

| MOSH Regular | Bentley, I spent on average, between ů and Ű a show because I got so many freebies. THAT'S how I've afforded to see so much *bg* I spent less than 赨 in total on shows, but my whole budget, including air fair, was about 񘍔 I think. I earnt that in 3 weeks during January but I am now currently unemployed and wondering how I'll be able to afford next year's fest. | ||

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 0 | I hardly saw anything this year, as I'm attempting to save, but last year I saw about 55 shows, and they year before around 45. Spent about 񘐜-񘘐 just on tickets, that's not counting the alcohol and Festival Club (although it used to be free if you saw three shows in one night... *growl*)

| MOSH Addict | Remy - next year I'm starting to plan what I'm seeing when a LOT further in advance than I did this year, and I'm DEFINATELY going to go to more shows per night than I did this year. Unfortunately, it wasn't just time constraints that held me back this year, there were financial issues as well. As it is, I'm dreading seeing my credit card bill *g* At least I got to a lot more than I did last year - I managed to see a whole pile of comedians I've never seen doing more than 15 minutes of standup before, and really enjoyed their shows. | ||

| MOSH Regular | Just wondering what Jeff Green's show was like, for anyone that saw it and can remember. I know I have weird taste in men sometimes but Jeff Green is extremely sexy. And he has that accent too  so I was considering going to see him if he's at comfest next year. Just my bloody luck he probably won't be, but an idea of what he's like would be nice *hinthint*... | ||

[/quote:post_uid0] Ta for the Jeff info...I thought he'd be funny but I've only ever seen him on debates, not on ...well, any of his shows that probably run for a lot longer than just a ten minute talk on a debate does. *realises she's rambling* :) And hey, is Jenny Eclair the one who Paul suddenly found more attractive because she could get her leg behind her head on the U&O video? I'm just trying to put a face to the name and I'm not sure if that's her or not.

| MOSHer | My understanding is that Jeff won't be there next year. He hasn't got a new show to tour and he didn't do Edinburgh this year. You might have to wait till 2003 then. Take heart though, there are plenty of other gorgeous UK comics coming over next year to take his place. hehe | ||

| MOSH Veteran | Ok, i am not going to try and list this in order, and i cant remember exactly, i know i will forget some things... But here goes. [b:post_uid0]Anthony Ackroyd: [/b:post_uid0] Given that there was only 3 people in the audience including myself, he did really well. Not the best thing i have seen him do, he seemed to go away from his usual 'adult' humor that generally gets a good reaction, but it was not bad. [b:post_uid0]Adam Hills:[/b:post_uid0] Absolutely hilarious, cracked up, had teers in my eyes. His shocked reaction when i mentioned alf as a gay sex symbol will forever remain in my memory. [b:post_uid0]auto boosh:[/b:post_uid0] These guys are the biggest idiots in the world. This was so bloody stupid that it had me in tears and sore with laughter. It was great! [b:post_uid0]cops on heat:[/b:post_uid0] I saw this 3 or 4 times i think and was never disappointed, Improv comedy at it's best. [b:post_uid0]Ross Noble:[/b:post_uid0] Again i was sore from laughter. One would think that his entire show is completely improvised, nice bloke too. [b:post_uid0]Dave Callan:[/b:post_uid0] Very funny man, It was a fairly small room, cozy one might call it... but then in a way it was beneficial to his material. I think it was better for it. [b:post_uid0]Darren Casey:[/b:post_uid0] Nice bloke, has potential to be really good, but with a small audience and some material that seemed to drone on a bit... there was something lacking. [b:post_uid0]Jeff Green:[/b:post_uid0] What can i say, he is also a very funny man, smallish venue PACKED with seats to fit as many people as possible made it a little uncomfortable, and hard to see for those without staduim seating. [b:post_uid0]Jesus Christ Movie Star:[/b:post_uid0] I enjoyed it, i may have enjoyed it more had i not been falling asleep... i got to bed after 1:00 after seeing this and slept until 2pm the next day, so i was knackered. But it was good to watch. [b:post_uid0]Lano and Woodly:[/b:post_uid0] This cracked me up... i could have seen it again if i had the time to do so. I talked to Colin after the show and apparently nearly the whole thing went wrong, making it even more amusing. Things like them not being able to find the wig and so forth... Hilarious. [b:post_uid0]Tripod:[/b:post_uid0] This was the first time i had seen tripod... actually it's the only time i've seen them other than the free bit at Southgate. But this too, cracked me up. One of the best shows at the festival i would reckon, and it leaves you sore, and singing afterwards. [b:post_uid0]Rich Hall:[/b:post_uid0] He's a genius. The way he executes his shows is brilliant. A mixture of planned and improvised comedy and probably even better in the way of improv than cops on heat. [b:post_uid0] Some show i cant remember the name of:[/b:post_uid0] this wasn't bad... [b:post_uid0]The comedy Gala:[/b:post_uid0] It was worth seeing, I went at that time of the festival specifically for it and am glad to have spent the ๠ for the ticket... [b:post_uid0]The debate:[/b:post_uid0] hehehehehehe... There was deffinately more, but i wont be able to remember unless i drag out my box that contains all the tickets... | ||
