My understanding is that Jeff won't be there next year. *He hasn't got a new show to tour and he didn't do Edinburgh this year. *You might have to wait till 2003 then. *[/quote:post_uid0]

But I wanted Jeff *sooks lotsly*....waaahhhhhhh!!! Fark. I've still gotta work out what I'm gonna see (if anything) at next years comfest...dun even know who's performing (as you can probably tell!)!

Don't get upset just yet, as I could be wrong. *In fact, I probably am. *He might choose to tell the same gags again seeing as he did so well this year. *Who knows? hehe
Besides, he's doing Adelaide :-P
Trust me, there are PLENTY more great comics to see in melbourne in 2002 apart from Jeff... Phil Nichol springs to mind for starters *goes off to find her Corky and the Juice Pigs album*

I can't believe I never replied to this thread properly...

* Wil Anderson
* Dave Hughes
* Peter Helliar

I saw these three one after the other (I walked straight out of Wil and into the line for Dave), and by the end of the night my jaw was hurting INCREDIBLY from all the laughing. Dave Hughes made me laugh so hard I cried. I know quite a few people who aren't too impressed by Hughesy, but there's just something about his style and delivery that makes me crack up to the point of having a minor asthma attack.

* Tripod (no surprises there)
* Mick Molloy (was a bit disappointing; I think I wrote a review about this on the old Hypermart MOSH board)
* Lano & Woodley
* The 3 Canadians
* Auto Boosh (one of my personal ComFest highlights!!)
* Adam Hills

I was also meant to see Brian Munich & Friends, but for various reasons never got around to it (even though they extended their season 3 times!!!).

I also saw all the Big Laugh Outs, and 3 of the Melbourne Comedy Central gigs... and a few stand-ups at the Festival Club, too. After seeing Chris Addison at the Festival Club, I was kicking myself that I hadn't gone to see his show!!! But when you're an unemployed bum who has to attend uni during the week, you can't really help the fact that there are too many #### good shows to be able to afford! *pouts* :(

It looks like I won't be getting to see as many shows at next year's comfest as I'd like to .. considering it's now highly possible I'll be taking two trips to Sydney in April and May so I have to save up for them :hmmm:

I hate to think how much I spent at comfest this year .. not just on tickets to shows but also public transport, junk food, etc. *I think I worked out that I spent at least &#36500 all up for the entire festival. *I don't want to spend that much next year, but there's MORE shows that I want to see! *Argh! :crap:

Oh you should count yourselves lucky... &#36500 isn't all thatg much for comfest!  (of course, I do realise that is when you don't have a job... but oh well... you'll all join the awful awful workforce sooner or later).

I'm looking at something along the lines of &#361500 for Melbourne comfest next year... thats airfares, accom., food, shows, and most importantly drinks (I always under-estimate in that area! hehe).

For those in Sydney who can't afford to make it, I've just heard there is some kind of comedy happening in March next year (between Adelaide Fringe and comfest).  Details will be coming out in late Jan though, so don't ask me about it just yet.  I have a feeling though that the line-up will be pretty #### good.

If I was going to answer this question properly, I'd need to have my Comfest journal with me.  I saw quite a few shows, but I won't even try to list them all coz I'll only miss the really obvious ones and feel bad about it.

Faves were:

Adam Hills
Wil Anderson
Tom Gleeson
Tripod

You know they're good comedians when they never seem to die onstage :)

I'm wanting to have &#36500 to go towards Comfest next year...and even that'll be a struggle, but I'm determined to see everything I even SLIGHTLY want to see...and hang around and get free tickets in the meantime :tongue:
