Get a badge made that says "MOSH", or has some Dougs reference or comedy quote on it, and then wander around and chat to any large groups of slightly insane looking people laughing madly at apparently nothing *G*

Or you could talk to Sooty *G* Sooty's the only person I know of who has come up to a reasonably large group of MOSHers and said "excuse me, but are you guys MOSHers?" and she was right, so she must have something going for her *G*

It's really quite easy. We'll be in the bar and if there's dancing, that's us.

Well, I shall give it a go then. I think I may perhaps have mosh ESP or something. My second comedy gig (Tripod) and I managed to sit next to Sugarbabe. And Corinne attacked me from next to her. And then Debbie appeared on my other side. And I was mildly freaked out

Now I can test it in Melbourne. *rubs hands*

But closer to the date, any advice would be welcomed... being an interstate (that's right, I've never been to Melbourne or Sydney) and comfest beginner... particularly estimates for costs and places to stay...

...but we are not stupid pooeys, so let's rejoice...

Nearly. There may be a guy dressed in dark colours standing somewhere nearby looking smug, or being attacked/pestered to dance by said large group of dancers.

I think the Vic Hotel seems to be the place of choice for interstate MOSH people when in Melbourne. It's central to the whole festival (Some of the rooms are venues for the festival, and it's right behind the Town Hall), pretty cheap (I think $99 per night including breakfast, but I could be wrong, too. After all, I live in Melbourne), and you are also near Minotaur.

its actually normally about $92.00 {if you want a bathroom} but if you are staying for more than 5 - 7 days they have quite a reduction in fees...

If you email them for "special" deals you can normally get that reduced. I normally end up paying $82.00 a night. There website is www.victoriahotel.com.au

This year it went down to $75 p/n for more then a week. That's with ensuite, you can go cheaper still if you're willing to share.

Only outside, and only if cameras are being brandished, or it is sunny, or raining.

The guy might also be guarding the drinks of the dancers, or getting them for the dancers.

Good News is that with the timing of university holidays I would technically be able to make it down to Melbourne for the last week of comfest.

Not so good news is that as of yet I don't have a decent job, hence lack the money to go (or more have the money, but don't really want to withdraw all my savings). Here's hoping I can get a summer job... damn you very full-time study!!

But yeah, there is still the possibility I might be there.
