This year's festival hasn't been as good as last year but here we go. Chris Addison - the only show I've wanted to go back and see until I saw Charlie on the weekend. He should have got a Barry nomination I think. Charlie Pickering - Awesome, still not sure why it's called Revolver though Justin Hamilton - Fantastic! the kind of show you still laugh about weeks after you've seen it. Man Bites God - Good show, it was better the second time I saw it, good songs, not as much rock and roll as one would imagine from the title of the show. Gud - pretty shit the night I saw it, because Cameron was in a bad mood. but all the new songs are great especially the new opening song and stranger danger. In fact I walked out not wanting to see it again. Tom Gleeson - although I love the Australian Fast Bowler I was disappointed that he started with a lot of stuff to do with AFB. Dave Gorman - Knew the story loved it all the same, the ending is a a real suspence thriller. Rob Rouse - Pretty damn good, but then anyone who sings Bon Jovi at superband gets 2 thumbs up by me Adam Hills - Loved by me and my nan, awesome show, I was completely blown away, can't wait to see him again Ross Noble - Has been said that he wasn't as good as last year, I didn't see it, good show, but the man makes sweet love to monkeys a bit too often :p Matt Hardy - OMG this show was ace! such a cool storyline and premise. 4 Noels - Seen both Mag 17 and Primitive now. Primitive needed work when I saw it, but had promise. Mag 17 was ace last night, an alarming amount of death for a comedy show though.

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | Well I finally got around to coming down to Melbourne and saw GUD and Adam Hills tonight, both worth seeing especially for Adam Hills photo and rants about a particularly large animation based company. GUD was good but as someone else said, didn't make me want to see it again, and a small point of warning, if Cameron Bruce ever suggests playing a game of beer hunter and you are near the front, I would say no, but he did hug half the audience at the end so you can forgive him for most things. Saw Brendan Burns, Adam Richard and Werzel on Friday, Werzel was good, could do with some tightening up but the storry about the half castrated ram and his testicle will have you cringing for weeks. Brendan Burns was awesome, a little preachy at times and could be viewed as a bit poor me with the whole"Australia didn't get me so I had to move to England" bit. BUt he really is an amazing comic, and best of all he drags the audience out into an alley way and continues the set after the Victoria Hotel have kicked him out becuase there is another show on. Adam Richard suffered from the fact that there were about 15 people in his room and when he has a small audience interation part it kind of fell a little. Upfront as ever was fantastic, a nice little tribute to Gibbo from Judith Lucy and Scotty, nude suits and all. I still don't get Maria Bamford but people seem to like her so who am I to judge. Monica Dullard had 1000 people singing climb every mountian which was a little surreal and the Kransky sisters, well I actually don't know what to say about three women with tuba, keyboard and saw other than I am looking forward to seeing their whole show. There is also going to be a Golden Gibbo at this years Barry's that will go to a new performer to help them get more started/established (like Moosheads I guess) On Mooseheads, I saw someone wanted to know whether it was worth going, Dave Taranto was always really keen on pushing Mooseheads and after a couple of years of listening to the Cheeseshop I decided to buy a ticket and it is the most terrific show, as it is the end they often get the not so big and the big acts doing one last show. Although it is sheduled for about 2 hours 30 it has been known to go much longer as comics get on rolls and refuse to get off the stage. Someone always sings Grapevine at the end as it was Brian McCarthey's favourtie song, they also have a nice painting of Dave T. Highly recommended closing night event, always amusing to see which comedians have survived in tact without the festival flu.

| MOSH Elite | I've heard a rumour that the remainder of Lee Macks shows have been cancelled due to a death in the family if it's true (it was from the podster forum) my condolences | ||

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 5 | the shows were cancelled before his season started - as it was printed on his posters that he was only on til the 10th. so I don't know if that's true or not. knowing the podster forum... it's kinda doubtful... I kinda assumed he just needed to be back in England for new sketch show filmings or something, but I could be wrong.

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 5 | yeah, well that makes sense too ![]() I just keep getting: "I got recognized the other day in dick smiths, the store-person was like" "you're that mad bloke off the telly!" "yes, that's right" "no... You're that mad bloke, Off the telly." paraphrasing. my god i wish i had his spot at the hifi on tape. 'what does your t-shirt say?' 'manic street preachers!' 'oh, manic street preachers! from up here all i could see was manic teet peaches, and i thought you were just saying you had mental boobs.' I love lee. I hope it is just cos he's gonna be a dad and that noone in his family died, cos that would be very sad.

| Hmmm good shows, i haven't visited mosh in ages because of the damn comfest, who thought working at it would be so hard!! There are some good shows in the Accaia room at the Vic Hotel. Go see The Pinch if you like a bit of music with your comedy, its not stand up or anything, more like a mini play. The boys are hilariously funny and their songs are pissa's too. Also in the Accaia room is Uber Alice. I pissed myself at this one, its really dodgy in terms of props but that really just makes it better. Comedy on the cheap. And Johnno (the performer) is really funny, its a really crazy show that is a bit weird, once again not stand up, but fun all the same, especially if you like audience participation. Stay away from 'Tragic at their Age' which is in the Boiler Room at the Vic Hotel, its really shit. Just a bunch of old ladies doing the same old 'i wish i were young' joke in the style of a skit. not very good. Rob Rouse is a pissa! and so is Harland Williams at the HiFi bar. Oh and 'The Beginning and End of Fin Begin' is really good aswell, i can't remember where that was though. I don't want this to seem like a plug but....come and see my show at the Vic Arts Centre!!!!!! its called 'Ridiculusmus, Ideas Men' and is really slapstick and wacky. Truly a good show. But then again I am stage manager for it so i might be a little bit biased. but come anyway!!!! There are farts and chocoalate eclairs, what could be better! Ok enough now, thats my 2 cents! ![]() | ||

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | Last week of the festival, and I finally get myself into gear to see some stuff. I've only seen three shows so far, but here are my top two: 1. Greg Fleet's Radioville - Population One. Very good. Audience participation segment works a treat. Based partly on Fleety's experiences as a commercial radio DJ. It is the story of the rise and fall of DJ Cash Driveway, and how awful Phil Collins is. 2. Tug Dumbly's A Case of Pisstaken Identity. If you're familiar with Tug's work, it's a showcase of his more popular poems and songs done on Triple J over the past few years, with some of the more controversial ones from his CDs thrown in for good measure. He links the prepared pieces with some rambling stand-up. If you're unfamiliar with his work, go and see it. Swipes at popular culture, alternative culture, hippies, politicians, musicians, regular people, and just about anyone else inbetween. ![]()

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 3 | I've only seen 2 shows so far, Adam Hills & Ross Noble, they were both great. I've only been interested in comedy for a little while, and don't know that much about the whole industry, so my judging is basically how much I laughed. I really enjoyed Adam Hills, and Ross Noble had my cheeks and stomach aching! As a side note - was anyone there on Tuesday (13th)? Or at Lano & Woodley? Just because, as we were coming in for Noble, Woodley was leaving on crutches. I was just wondering if anyone knows what happened (sorry if this is in another thread, I tried searching & I'm just curious!).
