NICKO AND JOE - SONGS WE THINK WE KNOW

Direct from the UK, and proudly brought to you by a lucky lottery win and childhood promise come Nicko and Joe.

Fulfilling a life long dream, this twosome are hoping to conquer Melbourne, bringing their infectious songs, delightfully cheeky humour and acid comebacks to the International Comedy Festival for the very first time in a premiere one hour show ‘Songs We Think We Know’

Having only formed in the past three years, the British music-comedy duo have quickly gained a cult following across the world via the www, producing such songs as ‘The Ballad of Brian (the gay dalek)’, ‘Prison Love’ and ‘FED Boy’ (a.k.a Flesh Eating Disease Boy), whilst continuing to build their live profile amongst English audiences in both comedy clubs and jazz bars.

Their newly launched album – Wallpaper, features the anthem ‘Manboobs’ which most recently garnered a following in the schools of America where students have created a dance to go with the tune.

With all the sweetness of Belle and Sebastian, tinged with the kookiness of They Might Be Giants, Nicko and Joe constantly delve into beautiful and bizarre realms that only geeks and true comedy aficionados could understand and appreciate.

Counting such comics as Phil Nichol (ex-Corky and the Juice Pigs, ‘The Comedy Club’ MICF 2002) and Stewart Lee (director of West-End hit ‘Jerry Springer the Opera’, solo show MICF 2000) as fans, it is with little doubt that this mischievous pair will win over even more admirers in the southern hemisphere during the upcoming March/April 2004 event.

Catch the show 7.15pm every Tues-Sat during the festival at Club UK -
169 Exhibition St Melbourne

Tickets are priced from $14-20 each and available at Ticketmaster, with limited availability at the door an hour prior to performance.
