Frank Woodley injured

I thought some would find this interesting. If not, mods: feel free to delete this post. Anyway, I found this out last night and did a search on it this morning. Turns out poor Woodley has gone done hurted his knee. Awww.

(From http://www.beat.com.au/artsaotc.shtml)

THIS YEAR'S 'INJURY' STORY

There's always an injury story during the festival, and this year's award goes to Frank Woodley of Lano and Woodley Fame. During a performance of their show, The Island, last week, a call from the stage asking if there was a doctor in the house elicited some laughs, but of course no one took the call seriously. In fact, Woodley really was hurt – He was taken to hospital where he was told he had damaged his cartilage. According to the publicists, there are no plans to cancel any of the remaining performances. The show has been re-written to accommodate the injury, and Woodley will have knee surgery after the festival is over.

****

So is anyone seeing the show tonight? (I take it tonight, being pretty much the last night of the festival, would be the last night of the performance.) If so, tell us how they did it. I saw the very first preview performance of The Island, and it was great. Filled with screw-ups and an unexpected fire, but those actually got the most laughs. Yeah...

yeah he was injured when Hails and I went to see them the other day.

Made it quite funny to watch how they changed it and to see Colin do Frank's stuff for once.

Why'd you injure Woodley?

frank's injury

Poor Frank! I saw the show on the 13th, they explained to us at the beginning of the show that Frank had hurt his knee "running around like a noo-na" in a previous show, I compared notes with my sis who'd seen the show a week before, and I think they managed brilliantly. Col had to scale the palm tree to search for coconuts ("heh and the thing is, that gets applause when *I* do it" -- Frank) and later on, when Frank climbs the tree to get away from Col, who is trying to kill him, Col points out that "In the other shows, your safe because I can't climb the tree, but they (the audience) know I can climb it now, they've seen me do it, so what're you gonna do?" -- Col "Yeah, but don't" -- Frank)

Always impressed at how hard they work at looking inept(!) I think everyone bought the fire thing as accidental -- I mean, who the hell can tell when they're for real or not?!
