You'll probably get to see the good international acts next year in Sydney when Cracker Big Laugh Borg MSN brings them over a bit earlier to appear here first? (Or you could spend less money by staying here and supporting local acts... )

Well here's the international list - Arj Barker Best of the Edinburgh Festival (Rhod Gilbert, Stephen K Amos) Bill Bailey Daniel Kitson Danny Bhoy David oDoherty Demetri Martin Edinburgh Festa Besta (Darryl Makk) Gamarjobat Jacksons Way James Campbell Jason Byrne Jeff Green Maria Bamford Mike Wilmot Nicko and Silky Paul Zenon Phil Nichol Return of the Redcoats (Dan Willis/Nik Coppin) Rich Hall Ross Noble Sean Lock Stewart Lee Tony Law And thats just what I could find on Ticketmaster. Thats a HUGE lineup in terms of international talent currently doing the circuit. Most of these acts are only doing Melbourne, and granted, not everyone is gonna know them. But that is what the Gala is for and discovering new faves (be it international or local) is part of the festival experience. Go to festival club, see your old faves plus a few new ones, maybe end up going to their shows based on the 15 mins you see there. I think a lot of us 2 years ago had that very experience happen in regards to Mike Wilmot. None of us really knew him but he killed at Festival Club and Spinning Wheel and we all went and saw his show based on that. Probably the best thing I saw that year. Out of interest, who did you wanna see Laney?

Didn't even recognise it as Hammo - was excited to see Dave Gorman's face - even tho he's choosing to perform in LA rather than jump on small girls this year.

Other than that guy i can't remember, i didn't have any names in particular, i just wanted to see a big list of familiar names. Did want to see Rich Hall also, but he's in sydney so no point going to melbs just to see him. Me and my friend are going to look over the list tonight, but it doesn't look as if i'm going anymore.

what's with there being only 2 scaredies nights? are there plans for the other saturday nights - or should I be planning events for my Saturday nights during Comfest? We're quite happy to have the superband without the Scaredies - I'm sure someone else would be happy to take over.
