If there are shows that you know you definately want to see on days that you definately want to see them, then buy ahead. BUT. Most shows don't sell out, and there is a good chance that you might decide to go and see something else. Besides, you might end up going to shows alone, and for some shows it's best to be in a group (Todd Barry for instance). It's entirely up to you.

I am flying in, staying at least a week longer than my uni hols., because I know that one of the shows I want to see will be in April.

I'm buying ahead for the things I know I want to see, but leaving plenty of space for the "ooh, I wanna see that" opportunities.

Chris Addison *bounces*
This means I get to see my best mate squeeing over skinny Englishmen again! (Her other favourite is Ian Ball from Gomez, who's even skinnier than Chris)
Planning on actually seeing Lee Mack this time, after only catching him in the HiFi last year. Big regret.

I just booked flights to Comfest (Wee - squeals with delight) I know it's coming up to Christmas and all (duh!) but Virgin and that 'Q' company are both having quite good sales at the moment and is good time to book tix. (this is not a paid advertisement, but a girl can't pass up a bargain)
Yay, am going to Comfest!!!

Hey Unfru, we will talk in a week about this - things are happening so quickly in my mind right now, and there's a chance I may be living in Melbourne come late January and therefore won't be taking the flat at all ...

I will of course keep you informed. All I've got rushing through my mind right now is lack of $$$$ to actually do all this stuff, how quick I'll need to sort it out and whether I should even get my hopes up to go for the transfer to Melb office in the first place. In other words, I'm having a panic attack over something that isnt even certain.

If anyone cares to email me and calm me down that would be much appreciated, cause my parents arent helping.

I'll calm you down. There's nothing to worry about: If you get the job, yay for you, you get to live in Melbs and have a cool new job. In regards to the flat, I'm sure there will be any number of people who will take your place. So if and when the decision gets made, either way it'll work out cool. And maybe Santa will bring you $$$ for Christmas

Yeah, don't stress! The job sounds awesome, but it is out of your hands... no amount of worrying is going to help, it will just make you anxious and depressed. Relax, live in the moment and try to ease your mind - you have done all you can and what will be will be. And there is always a way around cash flow problem! If you get the job don't stress about money at all, just make the move and everything will sort itself out! Trust me, ive seen it happen!
Plus if you need to, I can put you up whilst you're looking for a place (I think you mentioned that in another thread...).

See, it's all good!!

Just to let you all know, I've withdrawn my job application for that position. It just far too rushed in leaving my job here in Sydney, retraining someone, then going down there and starting afresh, all within a 2 week period.

But I might as well make it official by telling you all I'm moving down to Melbourne permanently on 22nd March - the day before comfest. I'm using the one month festival period in my city rental as a buffer zone to relocate to a flat in Carlton and find a new job.

I'm sure I've just disappointed a few of you by announcing it and thus staying true to my promise of moving down all those months ago.

Did the big New Year Budget thang and have realised that I actually will be able to get to this year's ComFest - woo hoo! But I need advice, 'cause I've never been alone in Melbourne before and am too socially inept to work stuff out on my own. Should I be booking places to stay already, or wait til closer to the date? Is there anything/one I should stay away from, or anything/one I should check out?

help me, please help me
