This is an automatically generated thread for the event Wild Duck. More information on this event is available on this page. Asher Treleaven Derek Ives Presents WILD DUCK Wild Duck returns for another bite of the cherry in 2005. Playing to widespread critical acclaim in the 2004 Melbourne Comedy Festival, Wild Duck redefined absurd comedy. Wild Duck made its debut in the underground cabaret bars and theatres of Melbourne. After a sell out season in the 2003 Melbourne Fringe Festival the duo of Asher Treleaven and Derek Ives plunged into the 2004 Melbourne Comedy Festival. Derek Ives was a driving force behind the Brisbane based Rock n Roll Circus and Asher Treleaven is a babe of the Famous Spiegel Tent where his antics as character Kornelius Pantalone has a cult following. Wild duck bends and seamlessly weaves through an anarchic blend of storytelling, audience interaction, sideshow, stand up and realism. The show constantly changes tack, tearing down its own farce and revealing an absurd reality then instantly taking off on surreal journeys into religion, literature and stupidity. Wild duck has been described as curious, hallucinatory, anarchic, delightful and hilarious. It’s the kind of show that would make Andy Kaufman proud. SPECIAL COMMENDATION WINNER Melbourne Fringe Festival 2003 “ Derek Ives and Asher Treleaven are gloriously odd, and rather than perform sketches their unfurls like an unending hallway carpet of curiosity…. Delightful” The Age, Fiona Scott Norman 2003 “The show at times feels almost hallucinatory. Its inventive, curious and original” The Herald Sun, Michael Ward 2004 “Youthful, playful and furry, Derek Ives and Asher Treleaven tear it up in Old Wild Duck” The Age, Helen Razer 2004 **LISTING INFORMATION Venue: The Scone Room, Duckboard Lane Dates: 24th March – 17th April (not Mondays), Previews 24th – 25th March Tickets: $18.60 FULL $16.60 CONC Times: Tues-Sat 07:15pm – 08:15, Sun 06:15pm – 07:15pm Bookings: Ticketmaster 7, Melbourne Town hall box office, Duckboard House box office also check out, Late Night birdman @the Kitten Club and the Not so Secret Society Show at duckboard house. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ||
