| MOSH Addict | A full list (in alphabetical order *G*) from the gala program, and a few impressions of each. Adam Hills - Not as good as usual. A lecture on women's magazines that really needed a more gentle introduction. I've seen it done before with better effect. Akmal Saleh - Good set. Mostly new stuff. Some bits about being an Egyptian comic. Arj Barker - To be honest, at this point I was looking at the ceiling...big fat head in front of mine got in the way and I think I'd heard most of it before. Bill Bailey - Finale. Nice. Kraftwerk's version of the Hokey Pokey. Bob Downe - Classy as *G* As always. Very nice indeed *g* Cal Wilson and Scott Brennan - Oh gods, painful. Premise is good, failed dismally on the Gala. Character comedy. Chris Addison - Some of last year's show, about the evolution of language. Engaging manner, interesting material. I liked. Danny Bhoy - Two true stories, involving urinals and porn. Nice. Dave O'Neil - ...can't remember much *larfs* Didn't hate it *g* Demetri Martin - Don't remember details, do remember thinking "I see why Sharleen's been raving about him". Good. Denise Scott - Scotty. Being Scotty. Good stuff. Eddie Perfect - Juice Bar Girl. TOP stuff. His voice just killed in that massive venue. Gud - Eddy Macguire. 'Nuff said. Kransky Sisters - It's fun watching half a room of people completely not get these guys *g* Some people thought they were hilarious though. Jimeoin - Nice visual gag, walking off stage. Some typical Jimeoin (or as my mother called him the other day, Jimmy Owen) material. Jason Byrne - An audience member and a box. All that is needed for the second most amusing act of the night. Jeff Green - omg, new stuff! Not bad. Will be saying "Hil-arious" all festival *g* Maria Bamford - *boggles* Voices. Characters. I can't understand her real voice sometimes. Not bad though. Mike Wilmot - Tears of laughter. Caravan. Pop-up caravan. Toilet in the caravan. Best act of the night. SO there. Rich Hall - Typical Rich. Good stuff. Sean Lock - Think I started looking at the roof again here. If not I just don't remember him. Stephen K Amos - Pretending to be African not English was confusing. But yes, he was at the shit stage of growing an afro. Tripod - Longer version of "If Prostitutes Don't Kiss" and "Fear of Shorts" *g* Think I have an idea about some of the "new" material for Lady Robots. Umbilical Brothers - Letter of complaint from Arnold Schwartznegger. If it's not in their show, someone should slap them. Brilliant stuff. Wil Anderson - *gasp* Jokes I hadn't heard from him before! Maybe taking a break from him is a good thing *G* | ||

| MOSH Addict | I'd heard all of Wil's. Perhaps it's a good thing I'm not going to see Kill Wil. Tripod were really disappointing too. Demetri Martin was great, as was Jimeoin. 'Walking shoes' I loved Eddie Perfect. Gud, Denise Scott, Maria Bamford, meh. Umbilical Bros. were fabulous, Jason Byrne was bizarre, adn Bill Bailey was just well, Bill Bailey. But I had a good seat for minor celebrity spotting. Mark Trevorrow watched the first half. He must be able to get into costume very quickly. I thought it was meant to be on on the 10th... I loved the night, a lot more consistency. I thought last years was very up and down. Anyway loved Gud or what I could hear of it. Was it just me or was it hard to hear Paul all the time, especially with all the explosions of glitter and stuff falling from the ceiling. Disappointed about Tripod's choice of songs: If Prostitutes and Fear of Shorts. Of the new comedians I hadn't heard before, I thought Sean Lock and Demetri Martin were really funny. Highlights of the night was Danny Bhoy and Gud. | |||
