It just shows how much comedy we have in Adelaide. And thats just the start. Sorry i hate it went people bad mouth Adelaide. We're harmless and always seem to get picked on. Also Paul was born here so technically he is one of us and he even admits to that on an interview ive got from a radio station in Adelaide. Actually its pretty funny- he was saying that when he was born he was paraded down the streets by John Martins.

And im not a stalker. i love almost every comedian, but dont go out of my way to follow them around or anything. Personally i think that is very wrong and its an invasion of privacy and having have been stalked personally know what it must feel like.

Yes he was born here, and did live here until he was about 6 or so, but they weren't actually paraded down the streets. But yes John Martin's did give them layettes (blankets for the younger generation!!) and teddy bears.

I not sure that site proves we are the "comedy capital" cause I personally wouldn't agree with that and I live here.

In fact an article in the paper the other day with Tom Gleeson says that even Melbourne is loosing a lot of their comedy places. (I'll type it when I get time!)

They're slowly releasing more shows. I saw that Rich Hall and Mike Wilmot are doing a late show together in the Lower Town Hall. Why would they be doing a show together. Am I missing something here?

Also has anyone heard if Chris Addison or Lee Mack are coming down?

I wish theyd come down. Some of their stuff is brilliant. I know he wasnt paraded. Paul was being silly in the interview. It was very funny though.
Really, you shoudl check out the Rhino Room on wed and fri nites, PJ Obriens on tues nite and the casino on thurs nite. it sometimes really goes off. The other nite was fantastic at the rhino room cause it was packed and Damien someone or other (cant remember name) from Skithouse was on and he was really funny. Ive seen Daniel Kitson, Adam Hills and Ross Noble there and Eddie Ifft. And its cheap. The most it gets to is $15.

Sydney's Comedy Store runs 5 nights a week, and that's just one venue.
Adelaide has nothing on Melbourne and I really doubt it could even match Sydney, since the population is an order of magnitude less. It may not suck, but Adelaide is certainly not the comedy capital.

Yeah Lee probably won't come down. Wish he would though, the first year he came down I didn't go see him for some reason, I did see him the next year and he's been a must see since, but he hasn't come back down.

He's doing an almost completely sold out tour in England at the moment, but his site (official?) doesn't list any dates beyond the 26th of February. That may coincide with him starting taping for TV again? No idea.
Would be good to see him back again.

Last time I went to Rhino Room when Man Bites God were playing, I didnt laugh at one joke any of the 5 comedians (before them) made. They weren't funny. None of the people with me laughed either.

They;ve been touring together here for a few months and they've also done a TV show together so they probably don't want to be appart for too long *g*

Brisbane has like only the powerhouse (general theatre but sometimes comedy-sucks to get there with no car), dockside comedy bar (but no big stars), and sit down comedy club-but mostly shit comedians i think....We dont have a comedy festival like sydney, melbourne and adelaide..so we really suck!
