| MOSH Addict | That thread does kinda degenerate into a discussion of shoes and what defines a lesbian *larfs* so an updated thread probably wouldn't hurt. http://www.bol.com.au - Beds OnLine is still up and running and offers a range of different kinds of accomodation in and around the Melbourne area. http://www.honey.net.au/ - unfortunately these guys are now doing a minimum four week stay in the second apartment (and the first one is taken), but the prices are good, particularly for more than one person. If you asked really nicely, and no one else has taken it, they might let you have a shorter booking, on the grounds that it's better to rent it for a short booking than not at all *g* I've also stayed at the Cosmopolitan Apartment as mentioned on BOL, and it isn't a bad place. They do weekly bookings, are within a block or so from the town hall, and are definately worth checking out. The Vic Hotel is, of course, your best bet for a combination of low price, decent rooms, and great location, but if you're prepared to stay a little further away, you can get better prices in a backpacker hostel. If you can find people you already know who are coming down and will share with you, you can get one of the larger shared rooms for a cheap price per person, and not have to worry about sharing with strangers. If you're really broke and want to save all your money for tickets, there's always the tent-in-the-park option ![]() | ||

| MOSH Regular | We've always booked through www.wotif.com and www.hotelclub.com. Even though you sometimes have to wait till last minute, we've never had trouble finding rooms. Plus when we have a group of at least four we can always get four star apartments for between $40 and $50 per person per night. | ||

We stayed there 3 years in a row, last year my poor darling friend got bed lice! Bad news that place, but it was cheap. And we don't think our room was rifled through, and location was awesome!

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | Oh yeah, it was cheap, it was a great spot, BUT call me soft, I just got freaked out on coming back from Justin's to find a staff member scrubbing blood off the wall outside my room. *shudder* ...although it did result in an escort home by the lovely hails, so it wasn't all bad! ![]() Hrm, back on topic, you probably can't beat The Elephant for location

| MOSH Addict | I've stayed at the Vic, although I stayed in a room with its own bathroom, so I can't speak for the state of the shared facilities, and I think it's a great place to stay for the festival. The rooms are standard hotel sort of rooms, clean and comfortable, and the location could hardly be closer to the festival, since you're actually staying in one of the venues *G* | ||

| MOSH Elite | since my waking hours are diffrerent to the normal hotel people the shared bathroom is usually quiet and empty. u need your room key to get in and since its not home i wear thongs in the shower anyway but there's enough space in the shower to get dressed and such without your clothes getting wet and they are rather anally retentive about cleaning the bathrooms and the rooms themselves (they were always coming in my room a couple of times a day which would be fine except i was asleep!) must find out about the gym in the hotel. it's going to cost me $15 per pay to use any other fitness first gym plus $100 transfer fee | ||
