The Comedy Tonne 2006

Wanna see as many shows in the Comedy festival as is humanly possible to see, and all for free?

Then read this:

Quote:
I thought I would let you know that the Funny Tonne - the Festival competition to see 100 shows - is being run again in 2006, and entries are now open.

So if you know anyone who would be good and up for it - put the call out. Obviously, the contestants can't be journalists, comedians or otherwise industry folk.

Interested parties should fill out their 25 words or less form on the website at www.comedyfestival.com.au
There'll only be 3 people in the competition and they'll be looking for 'interesting' and varied people to go into the competition, so have a think before you fill out the entry form. By "interesting and varied" I mean a cross-section of society like a mother of 4, a fireman, a circus clown, the CEO of a major company, etc..

Good luck!

Thread from last year's comp, for anyone interested.

Did anyone win it by finishing the 100 last year? I don't remember if we ever found it.

Two people got 100 shows in last year. Army guy managed over 100 but his friend left for Queensland with half the ticket stubs, so mother-of-however-many won because he didn't have the proof. With a little help from ticket-guru Janet, she just made the 100 shows, I think.

I considered putting my name in this year, but I can't be bothered. I think the competitors should be people who really NEED free shows *G*

I NEED free shows... especially since I Have to pay to fly there and back, and for accomm.. but I don't think I'd be able to get the whole comfest off work for some reason...so i'm out.

Just thought I'd drag up this topic again... I managed to get a spot in the Funny Tonne comp, which is going to be one hell of a way to spend my first comedy festival...!

There's a link to the Funny Tonne page on the front of the comedy festival website, which is going to be updated daily (with the reviews & the tally).

... And now I'll go back to lurking.

Good luck Cherryish!

Are the other two here too? Good luck, if so. Sod off and let Cherryish win if not.

Thanks guys

Laney - I believe it's a 'coveted' netball trophy. And the knowledge that you won.

Laney - I think getting in and getting the free tickets counts as "winning" *G*

Cherryish - Congrats! In a big way! *bg* Have fun scheduling, enjoy the free shows and DON'T trust anyone else with the ticket stubs you need to prove you've seen the show! That's what caught out the guy who was winning last year, his mate went back to Canberra with half the tickets. Guard them with your life!

Hope we get to see you on stage in the hifi collecting your netball trophy *bg*

Hey, what was your entry that got you in? *G*
