| MOSH Addict | Last year the Tassie finalist was told that they were filming it, but it wasn't going to be televised. I have no facts to back that up, but if it's true, that's got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. | ||

I thought that the actual package - i.e. the production of the program to be poor. Whoever was vision mixing on the day had a habit of cutting to the most miserable people in the crowd. As far as the discussion of its worth... I'm not sure.

The editing messed with the material, particlarly Bec Hill and Hannah Gadsby who both had callbacks which rounded out their sets really nicely, these were just cut out, and with Paul Ayre they slaughtered the subltlety of his opening which, live, was hilarious.

| MOSH Addict | As it happens, I spotted an article from The Age about the timing of next year's festival. Initial indications are that it'll run 28th March - 22nd April, and the board are arguing to keep those dates, but as Myth mentioned, the swimming may interfere. If it does, they're looking at postponing it a week, I think.I haven't heard anything about a final decision being made, but odds are, it's either 28th March - 22nd April, or 4th April - 29th April. | ||

Knowing Melbourne, it's capable of holding multiple events at the same time, and has done quite often. I also think that the two events wouldn't attract the same people, so there wouldn't be competition....

| MOSH Addict | I'm inclined to agree, but clearly someone important thinks the comfest shouldn't be on at the same time as another major event, or they wouldn't have delayed it for the commonwealth games. I was wrong, the article was in the Australian, not the Age. It says that the festival people also think the swimming won't be a problem, but the very fact that they have to argue that indicates that someone else doesn't necessarily agree with them. Meanwhile, visitvictoria.com.au is listing comfest as starting March 28th, 2007, but whether that's subject to change or not is debatable. | ||

If they're forced to choose between the Swimming (which Aussies will win!) or random comedy that may or may not be good? ![]() In theory they shouldn't clash but in practice? They probably will. It'd be a brave move to stick to the schedule methinks.
