One Man Starwars Imagine Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C3PO and Chewbacca – all on stage, all performed by just one actor. In this fast-paced show, Charles Ross brings to life all the characters from the original 'Star Wars' trilogy live on stage! As a 'Star Wars' addict who has seen the trilogy over 400 times, Charles handles all the characters and special effects himself, without props or costumes to hilarious effect. He buzzes like a light saber, growls like a wookie and whooshes like a millennium falcon as he sings the music, fights the battles and condenses the plots of all three original films into just one hour! He did Stand Up Australia on the 2-4pm Australia Day live show as well as the venues Sharleen listed above. Perth, Melbourne,Sydney in two and a bit weeks. He's got better since last April when I last saw him. Definitely worth checking out. He's hilarious. He will be back for the Festival and I'm looking forward to it. He's on at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow City 9.40 pm REDBLAK. Cheers ![]()

Reputation: ![]() ![]() Reputation Power: 1 | My shortlist after looking through the liftout in the Age today: Adam Richard X Al McGregor's Late Nite Variety Nite Night The Wizard of Rice The Girl From Belkendowns Flat Andrew McLelland Anthony Morgan Burlesque Idol Caravan of Love Cath Jamison Corine Grant Dave Bushell Dave Callan D-Cuppetry Die Roten Punkte Fiona Scott-Norman Jim Henson's Puppet Up! Uncensored Justin Kennedy Keating! Kim Hope Lawrence Mooney Local Laughs One Man Star Wars The Opera Burlesque Rockwiz Sacrificial Clown Sam Simmons Sammy J The Second Annual Golden Guy Fawkes Award Shappi Khorsandi Strangelove the Musical Tarnished Tommy Dean Tripod (both shows) Umbilical Brothers Wylie J & Mr Alambama Xavier Michelides Short is a relative term... If I don't have a job by April it will substantially limit my options. Might take the Pint on Punt crew to see Nik Copin at the E&W as we went to see Chopper the other week, sat on the front table and got really drunk. Not as many musicial shows this year, but more burlesque and cabaret shows. I only got to see two shows last year as I was too busy seing bands. I wish the Town Bikes were on, this show was great at the Fringe: http://twopresonbike.timchuma.com/mi...urnefringe.htm Just remembered, might also be seeing Burlesque Idol to take photos for one of the performers (Imogen Kelly.) She was in this show recently (Red Riding Hood routine) http://photos.timchuma.com/AbsinthClub/index.html Last edited by TimChuma; 01-03-2007 at 08:47 PM. Reason: Added some stuff

Also not sure if Stephen K Amos is doing the same show in melbourne but saw his chat show last night at the Gov. If he is doing the show put it on your list. It's kind of nuts he obviously doesn't really have any idea what is going on and for 20 bucks for 2 hours is far and away the best value show. My picks for Melbourne are definately Morgs, the rest I will decide when i get there

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 1 | Stephen k amos is the BEST comedian ive seen, he is a must see ONE MANS STAR WARS show i have seen, because im in sydney and it showed here first so :P My mini review of it, Firstly it was sold out,so get your tickets quick, possibility of getting the tickets at the door during the night of the performance but i wouldnt risk it Secondly watch the movies (star wars to return of the jedi) so you can appreciate it more Thirdly, there will be a LINE of people queuing outside before it opened, its unreserved SEATS but i still got a seat 5 rows away from the stage Fourthly, i do like star wars but not a major geek about it, so i didnt enjoy it that much to tell you the truth, it was a good novelty to watch but dont expect that many laughs, well i didnt laugh much anyway Fifth, a spoiler, he will tell you a story about his next production which has been stopped because he doesnt have the rights to do the show, a one man lord of the rings show, and i read somewhere they want to do a multi million dollar musical, THATS WHY he wasnt given permission!! STILL i didnt like it that much, but it is something different and there is no props!! Just him, playing different characters, singing the theme music and him spitting on people at the front row, you have been warned!!

If you know Melbourne comedy, then you know the best and most loved room in Melbourne is The Local run by totally awesome Janet McLeod. Both Janet and Gavin Baskerville have set up this room so you know it's gonna be good. Plus not only is the bloody funny Gavin B doing his show, but two of Australia's best comics, impro Queen Vanessa Bennett and down-right comedy genius Oliver Clark are on. Make a date to get up there and see them. You won't regret it. I only wish I was there to enjoy it over there with you. Maybe i should ring the Scaredies to do a Aust/UK satellite hook up and do Superband from here. Also check out: Harley Breen, Richard McKenzie Gez Hickey Justin Kennedy Dave Thorton Hound of Baskervilles Jimmy James Instant Order Impro Lawrence Mooney Wayne Dixon Xavier Michelides Andrew McClelland Lawrence Leung Have a great fest!!
