For me, Stephen k amos is by far my favourite comedian, but i saw im up here i sydney, not melbourne!!

I was suprised by LAwerence Leungs show, for me it was more "Cutesy" than anything else but i did enjoy the show, GO The ASIANS!!

Hip hop of the dummez deserved better than the 12 people who turned up but i dont think they're coming out again, but if they do its really good

Ed Byrne has been doing pretty well on the Irish version of "The Panel". Not sure how his stand up has been going but he might be worth checking out?

Like Anthony Morgan, Daniel Kitson's ramblings are often worth the long journey. Patient punters will be rewarded with Comedy Gold.

Jim Henson's "Puppet Up" is looking very interesting this year.

If you can avoid holding "My Hero" against him, Ardal O'Hanlon is worth a look.

Of the list of acts already up on the comfest website, I'd put in serious recommendations for Ed Byrne, Stephen K Amos, Jason Byrne (and I CANNOT recommend him highly enough), Tim Minchin and possibly Laughapalooza if the line-ups are good and the Chopper impersonator isn't there (because he draws the wrong sort of crowd for musical comedy, his fans laughed at him and seemed confused by the songs last year).

Kitson was never one of my favourites, but his efforts comparing the midnight to dawn comedy at the HiFi last year (I don't know many comedians who could have kept coming back out over seven hours and kept the crowd in a good mood even when they were so tired nothing was funny) have convinced me it's worth taking another look.

Alisso, I thought the world would implode before I would hear you say that Kitson is worth another look.

My tip - UK sketch trio 'We Are Klang'.
Very energetic, some times absurd humour (which will probably gain comparisons to the likes of Monty Python) from 3 hilarious, extremely talented men (who are also very accomplished solo stand-ups in the British scene).
They were nominated for the if.comeddie awards (previously known as the Perrier) last year in Edinburgh.

Ok so this is my first thread so be gentle..

Last year I saw Nik Coppin (UK comedian). His show was called Spiders Man. I loved it & my friends I was with did too. I dont know what I was expecting but I came out much happier than I thought I would..I was impressed with his knowledge of us Aussies without resorting to Shane Warne jokes & his interaction with the audience. An answer for everything..(as all men do I guess..but his were funny!)So much so, I put a review on the Chortle UK website..

He was on at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in the city.

Actually, I saw Dan Willis recently at the Comics Lounge & he was hilarious too so am looking forward to seeing his show.

Well, they are the two must sees for me anyway...

GRUTTA, Dylan moran should be coming, well he has shows in sydney anyway

Guttermonkey, Lawerence Leung asian? if i didnt see his face i would never would of guess, especially since his last name doesnt give it away, and how many asians can really grow a full beard!!

BEllagirl, Nik coppin i saw him, he's ok and i think he's doing some local gigs before the comedy festival

DANIEL KITSON, my brother and sister loved him, i was bored!! His style reminds me of ROss Noble, another comdian who rambles, maybe its just not for me

Hey, that's true ... I'm beginning to suspect that he's not actually asian at all, he's just pretending to be trendy.

I'm so gonna defriend him on MySpace.

Dylan Moran tix for Melbourne comfest have already gone on sale. He's doing the main Town Hall room for the first 10 days of the festival.

Also another Irish comedian, Sean Hughes, is coming back to Australia after 6 years. He's on at the Forum.

Just to confirm, Nik Coppin is in town right now. Great up-and-coming British talent. He's doing the Comics Lounge tonight, Fortnightly Fools on Sunday (with another very special UK guest - oh bhoy!), Melbourne Central Lion this Monday, Toorak Lion on Tuesday, then a few dates around Sydney (check www.alist.com.au for details). Or you can catch him during the festival when he's on at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow City.

Ummm... who else? oh, go see uk comic Russell Howard. He's lots of fun.
