Jordan Raskopoulos was born with a giant crab claw in lieu of a right arm. Despite facing ridicule and torment his entire life, he decided to go into show business. Now, he wants to tell his story and convince all animal-crustacean hybrids that there’s a place for them in this world.

In his debut solo stage show, The Adventures of the Man with the Dominant Claw, will play Sydney’s Cracker and Big Laugh Comedy Festivals, Adelaide Fringe, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. With a style akin to that of the late Mitch Hedberg, Jordan’s one-liners, absurd twisted logic and non-sequitur humour blurs the line between stand-up, cabaret and narrative, all the while wearing a prosthetic crab claw.

In his whimsical deadpan tone, a joke about Pluto soon turns into a love ballad to the now ex-planet. A discussion on Adolf Hitler quickly becomes a poem about the Nazi dictator giving small moustaches a bad name. Jordan also revoices scenes from classic cartoons such as He-Man and Captain Planet, and provides DVD commentary to old war footage.

Joining Jordan on stage is his manager Dominic, a plush dolphin on a broom handle. Sharing a love of The Golden Girls, their relationship develops over the course of the hour, and with the audience, learns a valuable lesson in the end.

The Adventures of the Man with the Dominant Claw showcases Jordan’s unique sense of humour and takes you through the day to day struggle of a man who ‘looks like a lobster, but feels like whore’.
